Fawlty Towers is one of my favourite all time comedy shows and I have wanted to attend the Faulty Towers Dining Experience since I first heard about the show a number of years ago. I was overjoyed to be invited to be part of the experience for the tour of the hit dining experience show whilst it was visiting Hotel Brooklyn in Manchester.

Leading up to the show, I was sent the menu for the show which consisted of Tomato Soup, Chicken Supreme in a mushroom Jus and Lemon Cheesecake for dessert. I was also sent a dietary requirements link which I completed with ease to state that I cannot eat mushrooms. I then received an email to confirm they had sent this information onto the hotel.

We found the hotel really easy to locate and checking in was straightforward and we were led to the bar after putting our coats in the cloakroom. We purchased drinks at the bar in preparation for the 7.30 start and we’re able to pre order drinks to be brought to the table once seated, as you cannot order drinks during the performance. You were also able to preorder drinks from the email link prior to attending.

As we were waiting in the bar, the actors who play Basil, Sybil and Manuel came in to greet us and seat us. This is where the comedy show began and had everyone laughing at the hit show related jokes and silliness of Manuel mishearing Basil’s comments and doing things like take peoples glasses off their head instead of collecting drinking glasses.

When it was time to be seated, Manuel showed us to our allocated tables and went round doing silly things such as polishing peoples’ heads. We were promptly served our soup, but we did notice that the men were served first, which disregards proper etiquette for a formal restaurant. They also served from the right instead of the left. I believe this was all part of the act and to make the experience true to the TV show and how things were a bit incorrect.

The meal was really tasty and I was quite happy that I wasn’t served any mushrooms in error. The show was put on, around us eating. So the actors would come out and deliver a thoroughly engaging and captivating show and then they would leave us to enjoy our course, then come again once cleared.

I was quite astounded at the way the actors were able to completely replicate the accents, mannerisms and likability of the TV actors. It was just impeccable.

I have had friends asking for the details of the show after posting images on my social media page as they were very jealous of me being able to see this show. They are gutted to see that the show is sold out but have signed up to the newsletter so that they can book next time there is a tour locally.

We had an absolutely amazing time and we said that it’s the best live interactive experience we have been to. We would definitely recommend this show and would rate it 5/5.

The show last for 2 hours and tickets can be purchased from £59
