With the weather we’ve had this week, battling against the rain and wind as two more storms have ravaged the country it’s certainly still felt cold and wintry. But warmer Spring days will hopefully be here soon. The arrival of Spring also means Easter time will be upon us soon too. We have quite a large extended family with lots of children varying in age from young up to teenagers. Whilst I think the traditional chocolate Easter egg makes a lovely gift for any age I like to look out for alternative presents to gift especially for my own children as they usually end up with an overwhelming amount of chocolate and one of my sons doesn’t eat it at all.

Easter time makes me think of chocolate, sunshine, bunnies and lambs. For this reason I think the Schleich Rabbit Hutch makes for a lovely Easter time gift. My son is already a fan of Schleich figures and sets and enjoys playing them alongside other brands in his small world imaginative play. There is a large number of Schleich sets to choose from but the Farm World range is his favourite. So I knew he was going to love this set, he absolutely adores animals.

The Schleich Rabbit Hutch arrived in a bright, colourful cardboard box which looks well presented for giving this as a present. What my son loved is that the inside of the cardboard box is a countryside scene with fields and trees so with my help we cut it out so he could use it in his playing. I love the idea of being able to reuse the packaging. The Schleich Rabbit Hutch is suitable for 3-8 years and comes with nine pieces. My first impression was that each piece is beautifully made and of very high quality. The pieces look durable and long lasting. The set includes a rabbit hutch which has doors that open and close and ramps to pull up and down. There are also fence pieces that clip together that can also be made into a pen. These really easily clipped together and pulled apart again meaning my son was able to do it himself and really enjoyed rearranging them into different shapes. The set also includes three animals and I was amazed by the attention to detail on each one. The little rabbits and guinea pig had all their little features making them look so realistic.

My son has already had a lot of enjoyment from this toy pretending to feed and care for the animals, it’s a great way to encourage imaginative play. There are enough pieces that it can be enjoyed by itself or it makes a great addition to a collection. With the cute little bunny rabbits included it really makes for a sweet Easter present for any child. The set retails at £17.99 and I think it’s really worth the money for how good the quality is.
