In the digital era we live in where smartphones are more of a necessity rather than a luxury, smartwatches are becoming an extension of this trend. Smartwatches are convenient because even in situations where you can’t carry your phone, the smart watch allows you to keep in touch with messages, phone calls, social media and so much more.
The Reflex Active Amoled Calling Smart watch is lightweight and has a premium herringbone textured silicone band which I found comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The Amoled ultra high definition screen is 2.04” which is large enough to read the screen easily but not too large that it looks too big and bulky on your wrist. The watch is IOS and android compatible and you download the free Reflex Active Red App to use alongside the watch. It has a full touch screen and rotating crown navigation.
I already have a smartwatch that I wear every day. I bought this a couple of years ago and have been looking to get a newer model. Compared to my current smartwatch the Reflex Active Amoled has so many more features than my current more basic smartwatch. Once paired with your phone you can make and receive calls through the watch. You can add 8 of your favourite contacts to the watch or use the dial pad to ring a number. The sound quality when making and receiving calls is good. Notifications and messages can be received on the watch based on what personal notification preferences you select through the app. Options in the app include notification for text messages, messenger, Facebook, Instagram, X and many more. These are the two features I will probably use the most to stay connected whilst working or out and about. I loved that not only was I able to see who was calling me whilst wearing the watch but actually able to answer the call was really convenient. I can’t tell you how many calls a day I miss by leaving my mobile phone on my desk at work!
One of the other features I will use a lot is the step counter. I can use the smartwatch to set myself a daily step target and check my progress throughout the day. The watch can even give you a reminder to move or drink water if you activate these features. On the app you can see your data for steps, sleep, heart rate and blood oxygen either for the current day or last 7 days.
Another feature I love is that I can change the watch face to either a permanent watch face so it looks and works like a traditional watch that is constantly on display or select from a selection of screen saver dials. You can even use your own photograph to set as the watch face.
Other features on the smartwatch includes a flashlight, weather update, music control, GPS connection, camera control, voice assistant, sleep tracking, calorie tracking, watch locator, women’s health, breathing exercises and sports modes. It has dual time display to show time home and away and is IP68 water resistant so ideal for surface swimming,
Preferences can be set for screen duration and menu view. The screen will be reactivated by simply tilting the watch or pressing the button on the side.
It comes with a magnetic two pin charger and takes approx 3 hours to fully charge. The battery lasts 3-4 days with Bluetooth calling mode enabled or on standby the battery can last approximately 10-15 days. I used it for 4 days on Bluetooth calling mode before I needed to charge the watch which I was really impressed with. My current watch needs charging at least every 2 days.
The instructions for the watch can be viewed in full by scanning the QR code on the side of the box. It has a 2 year guarantee and has a UK support team if needed
At £65 this is a mid range affordable smartwatch that has a lot of features for the price. It would be suitable for all ages as you can change the face screen to suit the wearer. The functionality is quick and easy to use and the screens are easy to navigate to find what you’re looking for. It is so much better than my existing watch and I would definitely recommend it to others.
