Puro Sound Labs | Headphones & Hearing Protection For Everyone

In our lives in the 21st century it can be difficult to find a moment of peace amongst work lives, commuting, parenting and the pace we live at.

I’ve seen others discuss noise cancellation headphones, not only for audio but to smooth out the distraction and stress of exterior noise interruption.  I leapt at the opportunity to review the PuroPro Hybrid headphones and find out for myself.

The company was established as a result of a personal experience within the creator’s family.  A loved one was diagnosed with Noise Induced Hearing Loss resulting from excessive volume when listening to music via headphones in their younger years.  This prompted them to create a range for both adults and children which are limited to the World Health Organisations recommended audio maximum and which drown out up to 83% additional noise, leaving the listener to enjoy their audio choices in peace.

The PuroPro Hybrid headphones arrived in a sturdy box, well packaged and easy to wrap if you’re thinking of gift ideas!  Inside the box was another box, this time wooden and rather attractive, emblazoned with the Puro Sound Labs logo.  There’s a hard shell case which is perfect for travel storage, the quick start instructions, C cable charging and an audio cable in case your device doesn’t have Bluetooth.  I love that there’s a case, perfect for holidays, commuting, house moves and more.  And even more intriguing is the way the headphones fold on themselves to create a smaller package than the rest of the range. Perfect for being on the go.

I’ve reviewed other really great Puro headphones and these are a distinct step up.  The ear piece covers are insanely soft and comfortable with protein leather covering and they feel good.  All black is always classic, after all it goes with anything.

Exactly the same as my previous tests; I had the perfect test location in mind.  The noisiest, busiest and most echoey place I regularly visit, our local sports centre which houses a pool, a gym and a play centre along with a tiled café in which all the parents wait with young siblings.  The noise is awful!  I like to take an audio book with me whilst I’m waiting but usually I can hear the chairs scraping, the nearby devices of others, the background music, random voices and the general echo and hissing of the coffee machine and clattering of plates.

I took the PuroPro headphones, accessed the quick start guide provided and paired them with my phone, the whole process took less than two minutes and I was able to easily dismiss the tiny amount of noises I could still hear and clearly hear the audiobook.  The process is painless and quick.  A voice let me know we were ready to go.  The environment is instantly less stressful and the noise is diminished enormously.

There’s a really simple button under the ear piece which turns the headphones on or off and lets you know with different colour lights about their status.  The LED will shine red when charging and blue when charged.  Nice and easy. The button feels sturdy too.  I’m confident it will last.

With the earphones on I tested music and the audiobook, listening for the quality and clarity of playback.  It’s great. The sounds is very clear and good quality.  The website boasts the details with greater specificity “Puro Balanced Response Curve provide the user a genuine studio grade listening experience. Engineered to deliver amazing audio with clear, crisp vocals and full, dynamic bass”.  I use a variety of devices paired to my phone and I can tell the difference in quality, sometimes having to lower the sound to reduce the poorer quality impact.  This isn’t an issue here, the PuroPro headphones deliver a great robust and authentic sound and there’s no hint of poor or cheap components which affect the quality.

The headband is light, strong and flexible giving the most adaptable and tailored fit I’ve ever encountered in audio headgear.  The cups rotate in all directions for maximum comfort and I genuinely feel that it’s noticeable.

The instructions explain there is 32 hours playback once charged, enough to get you around the world!  There’s also 300 stand by hours on a single charge courtesy of the heavy duty batteries – not that you’d know in terms of how light and comfortable they are.  The Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connection is simple and the wireless range is meant to be 40 feet or more, certainly I didn’t lose any audio walking around in the sports centre and my house.

There’s also an in line and dual microphone for calls, all with simple controls which are quite intuitive.  The volume limit can be 85 decibels as recommended by the World Health Organisation offering safe listening for 8 hours or can be set to 95 as a maximum volume for 50 minutes, protecting human hearing from damage.

The warranty included is for 1 year but I can perfectly imagine that the Puro headphones will outlast the warranty with ease.

I can genuinely recommend Puro headphones as being comfortable, good quality and nice looking.  They’re a good weight and the noise cancellation is great.

This would make an excellent gift for Christmas, for a student needing to tune out background noise, a parent in need of peace, or just because.
