This is such a cute, colourful game suitable for ages 3 and above and for 2 – 4 players.  It is presented in a sturdy cardboard box. All the parts are inside the box in plastic tray with shaped compartments for each piece so this makes it very easy to pack away and store. Inside the box you will find 1 dice, 4 eggs, 3 chicks, 1 croc, 12 tokens, one drawstring bag and a spinning nest in two parts.

It is very simple to set up the game ready for play.  The game starts with a roll of the dice.  If you roll an arrow you spin the nest, If you roll an egg you get to take an egg from the bag and choose one of the four nests on the spinner to put it in. Only one of the nests will make the egg hatch. Every time you hatch a chick from your egg you take a token but if your egg hatches into a croc you put a token back. The trick is remembering which nest will hatch the egg. It’s all done by magnets.

The three year old in our family loved the game at first sight and couldn’t wait to get started. It was very easy for her to set it up herself so she was very happy to be involved from the start , no waiting impatiently for an adult to sort things out, although she could not quite grasp the idea of collecting the tokens , she just loved rolling the dice ,getting an egg out of the bag and putting it in the nest. So this is the way we play the game and it works for us I think as she gets older we will advance to the token collecting, so far we have played the game every day it has been the first toy out of the toy box.

One thing to be aware of, you have to remove the egg gently. If not the egg will not hatch in any of the nests as the magnet will not hold the bottom of the egg. When the eggs do hatch the little chicks and the croc are adorable. I thought they looked like they were wearing little hula skirts, and they flutter when the top of the egg is taken off adding some movement to the chicks.

Overall this is a lovely game for young children and a perfect way teach them how to take turns and follow instructions on a dice. I was going to suggest it as a rainy day activity but even on sunny days we have taken it outside to play with.
