The Plumeria 1 wick candle is part of the Spa collection of candles sold by Parks Candles of London. Parks is a family run business who specialise in a range of candles, diffusers and home-fragrance products. They have a showroom in London’s West End plus a website which delivers to customers all around the world. I had pleasure of checking out their claims that the therapeutic fragrance of this candle could help me to soothe, de-stress, restore and revive. Luckily, I was not disappointed.
The Plumeria candle is presented in an attractive, sturdy white box with the scent of the candle on show through a gap below the lid. As you raise the lid, the black inner section is revealed with the logo of the company on one side. Finally on lifting the 300g cylindrical candle out of the box, you get to appreciate the frosted glass jar and smooth black cover which gives it a luxury stylish feel. This matches the £39.50 price tag that would put it in a mid to high-range price bracket. Money well spent I soon discovered.
The elegant presentation enables the candle to be a beautiful item to have on display in your home, even before you light it. The wick of the candle was easy to light, even after the first burn (sometimes they get too short to be accessible, but this was not a problem in this case). I chose to use the candle in both my living room, bedroom and bathroom. Each time the sweet fragrance created a relaxing feel and was strong but not overpowering. The candle is described as coreless clean burn and is made with 100% natural wax. The company are rightly proud of the research and manufacturing techniques they use to keep their natural values and recognise the importance of eco-friendly products.
A sticker on the base of the candle gives clear safety information plus details about the ingredients in the candle itself. Described on the company website as having at least 62 hours burn time, the scent does linger in the air long after blowing it out. Other options in the Spa candle range include Breathe, Rosarium, Onsen and Alpine so there is lots of choice depending on your preference. Parks also produce 3, 4 and 10 wick candles in a wide range of fragrances. Although I only used the candle in my home, I imagine it would fit right in creating a lovely ambience in a luxury spa facility.
I was very impressed with the honey-warm scent produced by this candle – it was quite feminine and floral, and the fragrance lingered long after the candle was blown out. The price suited the quality and I will definitely be considering buying another as a gift and recommending it to my friends.
