Selection of DRIFTWOOD DESIGNS Christmas Decorations
I just love Christmas: it can never come soon enough in our house. And lucky me, because I was picked to review a selection of Driftwood Designs’ wooden Christmas decorations.
The Christmas decorations were posted out to me in a padded envelope, sealed in a beautiful red paper gift bag that was secured with a circular pretty Driftwood Designs Sticker. In the bag were 4 unique artist-designed wooden Christmas decorations. Just beautiful and such a treat!
Driftwood Designs decorations are lovingly designed in Aberystwyth by Lizzie Spikes and are printed in Britain. These decorations are made in the UK from sustainable European birch wood.
Firstly, there was a stunning 3D wooden robin slot together decoration, this hanging decoration is easily assembled yourself by sliding one piece into the other to make up the wings, the robin is holding a piece of mistletoe in their beak and is supplied secured and ready to hang with a piece of red satin ribbon. Measuring approximately 11cm x 10cm. The robin retails at £8. Secondly, there was a foxes wooden decoration, depicting two foxes sat in front of a Christmas tree, and was secured with a piece of contrasting gold satin ribbon for hanging, 7cm in length, and retailing at £4.75, thirdly, a snow hares decoration, two hares in front of a star, and secured with a piece of navy blue satin ribbon for hanging, also 7cm in length, priced at £4.75 each and finally, a hares three tier wooden decoration which features a hanging – hare, a moon and a star, and is finished with a length of stone coloured satin ribbon, for hanging from a Christmas tree, with a total hanging length of approximately 24cm, retailing at £8.50.

Driftwood Designs is a Welsh company and was founded in 2012 when two friends Lizzie Spikes and Becky Barratt formed a partnership, each bringing their own individual skills and together they began creating and producing cards and prints on their kitchen table whilst their children played around them. As time has passed the company has grown from strength to strength and Driftwood Designs is now a successful publisher, design house and retailer, with retail outlets in Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron.
Lizzle Spikes certainly has a talent and passion for creating colourful illustrations that are reliably translated to decor and homewares, cards, prints and lots more. Her art is incorporated into everyday life in the form of practical objects, gifts and Christmas decorations. Lizzie’s fine art designs encompass numerous themes, and include countryside and coastal scenes, animals such as foxes and hares, symbols such as hearts and moons and stunning designs incorporating beautiful hand drawn plants and flowers.
