There’s something about visiting a show at Christmas that feels good, and this year’s Rhythm of the Dance looks like a great chance to get into the Christmas spirit. After more than 25 years of touring the world, the company is back in the UK with a brand new production – and it feels like it will be the perfect blend of Irish tradition and festive fun.
What I’m hoping for is an evening with the unmistakable Irish rhythm of dance – brilliant music, storytelling and the kind of choreography that makes you want to get up and join in (if only I could!). Using familiar Christmas songs performed live by world class musicians, brilliant vocalists and world champion dancers, it promises to be an evening to remember – full of joy and bringing a great atmosphere.
I’m especially curious to see how they turn this show in to a Christmas spectacular, bringing something new to what we already know. I’m excited to take my daughter along, who loves both dancing and Christmas, and I think shows like this have a way of drawing people together, giving families and friends a great night out together at this time of year. If the show delivers what it is aiming at, I think it could be one of the best festive moments at Poole Lighthouse this season.
