Nelsons Arnicare Cooling Gel Review
THIS ITEM WAS GIFTED TO THE REVIEWER FOR THE PURPOSES OF WRITING THE REVIEW. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE THE REVIEWER'S OWN.

What can I say – I absolutely love Nelson’s Arnicare Cooling Gel. This is now a staple product in my handbag for now and then my first aid box! Arnica is renowned for its healing and anti-bruising capabilities and is often recommended to new mothers or for sports injuries, but Arnicare adds to that a cooling sensation to provide that relief that perhaps equivalent to that which ice might also achieve.
It was quite timely that just before I was asked to review this product, I had a netballing injury! The ball hit my thumb bending it backwards. Luckily not enough to break it – but SOOOOO painful! My movement was restricted and so, as I tried to use it throughout the day and keep it active to encourage the muscles and tendons to go back to normal, my thumb would often ache and throb.
I began to apply the cooling Arnicare gel (about a large pea size to start off with, massaging it gently into the area in circular motions), using more as required throughout the day. However, the instant relief I feel as soon as I have applied it from the colling sensation is just fabulous. It is immediately absorbed into the skin and doesn’t leave a tacky or wetness after application. It also doesn’t have a strong fragrance, unlike other cooling or pain relief products and so I was happy to apply it as liberally as needed and as often as I could throughout the day.
The pain relief doesn’t last hours, but it certainly is what is needed to relieve the immediate aching sensation and enabled me to continue with my activities.
Nelsons make it clear on the packaging that Arnicare can be used for all of the family, so as a mum to 3 sporty children often sustaining injuries, it is great to have an effective pain relief that I can also use on their aches and pains. The menthol and cooling nature of the gel means that it is also used to give instant relief to aching legs and feet after being used all day. It is a handy product to have in that first aid cupboard and one that is small enough to fit into any travel first aid kit to have out and about. Handy for any bumps and bruises (although you should not apply it to any broken skin!).
As Arnicare is classed as a complementary medicine, at Boots and Holland & Barrett there are currently offers such as 3 for 2 which can make it even better value.
Usually homeopathic remedies might cost a little bit more, but this is such a good value product and really does seem to give an instant relief to aching joints and muscles.
