NaturVital Shampoo Review

We have all seen the ads for the anti-dandruff shampoos and many of us will have tried them to solve the problem of itchy, flaky scalp and dandruff. They may work, but at what cost to your hair as a result of the chemicals they contain?

I have been given the opportunity to try NaturVital Anti-dandruff Shampoo for normal hair. Just another fancy expensive product I hear you mutter. Or is it? It comes in a 300ml bottle with an RRP of £7.95. Unlike other anti-dandruff products, this does not contain any chemicals but natural plant ingredients instead, particularly Jua extract, which is a natural treatment for dandruff.

When the bottle arrived, I have to say I was a little disappointed. For a bottle of shampoo costing £7.95 I thought the bottle looked a bit plain. This said however, the shampoo is natural and therefore a plain design probably suits it. I do not personally have a problem with dandruff but I do get a dry scalp, so I couldn’t wait to try this out and see if it really does soothe as the package says it does. With other natural ingredients including Aloe Vera, lime and liquorice (not sure about that one!) I had high hopes.

When I opened the bottle, I was greeted with a pleasant scent, not too strong as you would expect with natural ingredients but definitely missing that chemical smell that you get with some medicated hair products. It lathered nicely, and I didn’t need to use too much of it. I have long thick hair and often have to use quite a lot of shampoo to get a satisfactory lather but that was not the case this time. After a good massage it was time to rinse. I always use conditioner as with thick hair it is the only way I can stop myself looking like medusa!

On this occasion, I decided not to apply conditioner, so I could get a feel as to how soft my hair was after using NaturVital. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. My hair felt soft and although I would probably use conditioner with it, I may not ned to do this every wash. It was however a significant improvement on my usual high street branded shampoo.

If you do not believe me when I tell you that this shampoo leaves your scalp cool and flake free, then how about this for evidence… NaturVital were so sure that this product was effective at naturally treating dandruff that they approached the University of Barcelona and asked them to test it. As a result of this trial, it is now officially endorsed by the university.

NaturVital offer a full range of hair products and shampoos for specific purposes, all of which contain natural ingredients. We all know how awful it is when something affects your self-esteem and confidence and if you suffer from dandruff and the stress and embarrassment that it brings then I think £7.95 for a shampoo which is proven to improve dandruff is a bargain!
