Mr Bean Coffee Bean Scrub Review

Reviewed by Victoria Daubney
When I received a flat package in the post I was surprised to find that it was my Mr Bean Coffee Bean Scrub. It came housed in an A5 sized cardboard box so was quite deceiving at first. However it was the perfect size for getting through the letter box so there would have been no problem with delivery. When I took the pouch out and gave it a shake it soon resembled the shape I was expecting, like a refill bag of instant coffee. The smell was also amazing, and that was before the pack was even open!
There were a few paragraphs inside the box describing the product which I really liked. It talked about Mr Bean as if he was a man, and how he was more than just a one-time kinda guy! It made me smile. There was also some great information on the packet itself advising about how the beans were sourced from fair trade producers and that a patch test was recommended before use.
When I got in the shower and opened the pouch the smell was so delicious I actually wanted to eat it! It was obviously a very strong smell of coffee but you could pick up on the cocoa, coconut and mandarin essence that were also in the scrub.
You get a really good amount of product so you don’t need to worry about scrimping when applying it. It gets very messy, but for me I thought this was part of the fun and appeal of it.
You are supposed to wait 5 minutes once you have massaged the scrub in before rinsing it off. I’m quite impatient so this felt like a very long time as I couldn’t move from the shower due to the mess. It was well worth the wait though because as soon as I did start to rinse off I could feel the difference on my skin straight away. It was so soft I couldn’t actually believe it, after just one application.
You have to make sure you rinse extremely well after use as I could still see steaks of the product on my skin even when I thought I’d got it all off. I can only think that this is because there is such a generous helping of coconut oil in it and that’s why it’s so rich and moisturising.
I wouldn’t recommend using a white or cream towel to dry off after using this and it also took a bit of cleaning to get rid of all the bits from the shower. I do think it’s all worth it though as the smell and softness of my skin lasted easily until the next day.
I’ve used the product quite a few times now and each time my skin stays softer for longer. It feels really nice to apply and exfoliates without being too rough. It is also good for cellulite and stretch marks – bonus!
