I’ve bought Modi-Bodi products before, for my daughter. I love the concept of leakproof underwear, and hope it will save her from all the embarrassment that we’ve had to go through as teenagers, when the odd leakage accident happened.

I’ve also planned to buy some of their products for myself as well, but as is often the way, forgotten about it. So when I saw that this is available to be reviewed, I was more than happy to put my name forward.

Well, let’s just start off by saying I could kick myself for not buying this months/years ago. I was sent the sensual hi-waist bikini in clay colour and with a light to moderate absorbency.

As a larger woman, I often find that you have to compromise on underwear. You can either have something that looks and feels nice, or you can choose something that fits well. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this out, as it does both. That is even before considering the main purpose of this underwear.

The light to moderate products holds about 1-2 teaspoons of liquid, or the equivalent of two tampons. It felt strange at first not wearing any other protection, and I was worried about it not being enough, or feeling uncomfortable during flow. I soon realised there was no need to panic. This underwear does what it says it will. At the end of the day I still felt dry, clean and fresh. I was so glad to see the care instructions were very ‘non-fussy’.

A quick rinse with cold water under the tap until it run clear, and then I put it on an eco- wash with other garments. Before going to bed it was hung to dry, and by the next morning it was ready to wear again. I am hooked on this now, and only wish it was available many, many years ago!

Besides the obvious, there are many other reasons to love Modibodi products.

No more running low on sanitary products and having to dash out for more.
No more putting harmful products inside or snuggled up to your precious bits!
No more leakage.
No more harmful, single use products in the landfill. (Did you know Pads take 500+ years to biodegrade – so the first period and sanitary pads ever made could still be in landfill!)
Did I mention – no more leakage!

As if that is not enough… Looking through their website, it is clear to see the care they are putting in to catering for more bodies. Pregnant? Breastfeeding? Male? Teenager? Larger size? It’s all there, and that makes a refreshing change. Their products are responsibly sourced, and ethically manufactured. All of this adds up to make it a really feel-good purchase.

Would I buy this as a gift? Yes, actually. For all the reasons above, I would consider this a good purchase.
Would I like to receive it as a gift? Absolutely. The sensual range is everything it promises to be. Not only will it last much longer than a box of chocolates, it is definitely kinder to my body too. Although, I of course wouldn’t say no to another few of these, plus a box of chocolates!

The hi-waist bikini I was sent sells for £20.50. At first it felt a bit costly, but considering all other factors, including never having to buy another pack of disposable sanitary wear, I think it is completely worth it. You can purchase bundle packs, or single products. I’ve already got another couple of these in my basket, and I plan to build up my collection. The underwear is practical, beautiful and an absolute pleasure to wear and review.
