When I was offered the opportunity to review Love Boo’s No More Knots Detangling Spray, I jumped at it. My two daughters, aged 2 and 4, who have inherited my mass of thick locks that are never without knots, dread the comb emerging from the cabinet. I was happy to investigate a potential fix.
I long for smooth, straight and shiny hair and don’t want to have to relinquish such hopes for my girls. My hairbrush and I are frequently defeated in ongoing battles against matted, messy and muddled manes. I’m fed up of fighting my girls into the bath; their protests have become too much. All I want is a house of furl-free follicles.
The Love Boo detangling spray comes in a 250ml bottle and is a super-squirter. It hasn’t clogged up and spritzes easily and evenly. We used it first on wet hair; spraying it generously all-over and then combing through. I thought I had mistakenly bathed someone else’s children. Within seconds of spritzing, the comb was sliding through my daughters’ hair. I’ve no idea where the knots went but I was glad to see the back of them. It saved us minutes and moans.
My four-year-old knew we were testing something new. We’ve tried similar products without huge success and had our fingers crossed that Love Boo would be loved by all. The first thing she noticed was its scent. “Mmmm, flowers and candy floss.” she cooed. I’m not sure how that reflects the ingredients of coconut oil, fig and papaya, but the smell certainly is sweet and summery. Later that day, and the next, I got delicious wafts of clean hair.
All Love Boo products are made in the UK and the team work with experienced chemists to find the highest quality ingredients possible. They refuse to use anything that could harm delicate or sensitive skin. They say that the papaya in the detangler helps nourish the hair and remove excess chemical build-up and dirt. The coconut extract is said to add shine and hydrate and the Argan oil and fig help release the knots and defrizz. I’m no scientist but I can concur we’re all now rocking soft, shiny, silky-smooth locks.
The Love Boo packaging suggests the brand’s products are for children, and whilst they are indeed perfect for the younger members of the family, the two ladies behind them, following the birth of their daughters and a fruitless search for a kind, gentle and effective skin and hair care range, suitable for use on their newly grown families and on themselves, set about formulating their own. I confirm that the detangler is just as brilliant in its quest to tame my hair as it is on my little ones. It doesn’t leave our hair heavy or greasy and it’s also ideal for using on our tresses to give them a quick freshen up in-between washes without having to battle with a brush.
We’ve been using the detangler liberally, however, I’m pretty sure the bottle will last us a decent length of time. I’d certainly consider it an investment. Gone are the tangles and the tears and that’s a terrific trade. Love Boo No More Knots Detangling Spray has been a breath of fresh hair in our house; our hair won’t be parted from this product!
