I am a massive lover of Tapas. A couple of friends and myself went on a much needed girls night out last night. It was just fantastic from start to finish. My friends arrived before me and were shown to our table by friendly, helpful staff. They enjoyed a drink while they were waiting for me to arrive. Upon arrival I received a warm greeting from staff and was quickly shown to our table and we were all given the opportunity to order drinks. Our waitress explained some of the items on the menu and made recommendations. There was so much choice. We each ordered 3 sharing tapas dishes. I say sharing, but what we chose sounded so yummy that we didn’t want to share! If Tapas isn’t your thing the other selection of Spanish dishes such as paella looked wonderful. We enjoyed our drinks and had a lovely catch up while we were waiting for the food to arrive. The food came quickly. The dishes we had chosen were Sea Gambias Gabardina, Patatas Bravas con queso, Pollo Marbella, Spanish lemon chicken and pork belly. The food was hot & tasty and 3 dishes for me were perfect as I ended up nicely full. The chicken and pork in my tapas dishes were so tender. With the potato dish which had cheese on, there was the option to go large which we all took up. I am so glad we did as that was my favourite dish of the meal. Several of the dishes were scraped clean. Our waitress was efficient in checking back that all was ok with our meal. After polishing off the delicious food we enjoyed chatting over a pitcher of Sangria.

The restaurant itself is welcoming with a lovely décor and atmosphere. There is seating within the restaurant itself and just outside. The whole of the restaurant including toilet facilities was immaculately clean. We met the manager while we were there and he is a credit La Tasca, being both approachable and friendly. Whilst we did not have children with us, the restaurant is family friendly with high chairs and a lovely children’s menu. The drinks, especially the Sangria, were wonderful. Considering we had 3 tapas dishes and 3 drinks each the cost of the whole bill was very reasonable. The dishes we chose ranged from between £4.75 and £5.55 but there were dishes priced at between £3.00 and £4.00.

In summary we had a wonderful, much needed night out. All of the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The restaurant is professionally and efficiently run. The atmosphere was perfect. We all said we would go again. I would say La Tasca is perfect for a family meal, romantic meal, group of friends going out, business lunch or dinner or special occasion.

When I was asked to join a friend and another reviewer for a bite to eat at La Tasca, I was a little unsure as I had never tried tapas before and didn't want to miss my tea and then not enjoy my meal, but curiosity got the better of me in the end so off I went.

La Tasca is situated on the upper level of the Orient Food Hall of the Trafford Centre, and even though there are many restaurants there it was really easy to find.

When we got there we were met by a warm welcome from the staff members and were shown to our table and given our menus to look over and our drink orders taken, as I hadn't really looked at the menu properly I stuck to my well known white wine and lemonade. Our drinks arrived very quickly and we were asked if we were ready to order but we wanted a little more time to choose as they had a very extensive menu with so much choice.

I have been for a review meal before but have never had any dealings with the management so was pleasantly surprised when the manager came over and introduced himself and asked if we were ok and everything was up to standard, which I thought was a lovely thing to do.

We were left to our own devices while we mulled over the menu but we had no idea what to order, one of the members of our group had forgotten her glasses but the staff members didn't hesitate to talk her through the menu and find out what she liked to see what she would enjoy more which was a step further than they needed to go but was much appreciated. I myself ordering on the suggestion of the waitress (Espana) Patatas Bravas, which is fried potato with spicy tomato sauce with added cheese, (Extremadura) Spanish-style lemon chicken and vegetables, which is chicken breast pan-fried with fresh lemons and Mediterranean vegetables and finished with a sticky lemon glaze and (Malaga) Pollo Marbella, which is chicken breast cooked with smoked paprika, chorizo, mixed peppers, onions and a white wine and cream sauce. None of which I had, had before but couldn't wait to try.

We were offered another drink and again the staff recommended their Sangria, they do two versions the original and a fizzy so I ordered the original and another Debbie ordered the fizzy on the promise I could give hers a try. And I must say they were both amazing.

We didn't have to wait too long for our food and when it came we were met but 3 sizzling and smoking dishes each all of which we couldn't wait to dive in and try as the smells were really mouth-watering, and I wasn't disappointed at all, each dish was cooked to perfection and was full of so much flavour. They each complemented each other really well and I didn't want to put my folk down and I didn't until my plate was empty. The prices are really reasonable and you get so much for money in size, quality and taste.

I was really happy I came to La Tasca and gave their delicious menu a try as I was surprised how much I enjoyed every bit of my meal.

The restaurant itself was spacious and clean, with an authentic Spanish decor that made my visit that little bit more special. The tables were clean and well presented. The staff were down to earth, pleasant and friendly and some of the nicest people I have come across in a restaurant in a long time who did all they could to make our visit enjoyable to which they succeeded and are a credit to La Tasca. It a place suitable for a family meal or a night out with friends.

Overall my night was top notch with fantastic food, amazing drink, good company in a relaxed and fun environment to which we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. I would definitely be back sometime in the near future with my family or even another girlie night.

Huge thumbs up from me.
