We were delighted when this package arrived at our door! We have been really rather bored with this lockdown and all being stuck inside or rather safe at home, so this was a very welcome delivery indeed. The item came in at very sturdy box with a clear image of the product. Inside the product was very well protected with bubble wrap. Bubble wrap it a BIG hit in our house. Already My 3 year old was super excited. My 7 year old spied a YouTube logo on the box and being a YouTube enthusiast she set to work and found the very helpful and detailed video explaining all of the assembly instructions. The video was fun, engaging and very easy to follow. My 6 year old boy was intrigued and he loves to construct things. After watching the entire video I decided that in fact the assembly was so simple that I would allow my 6 year old to assist me in building it, much to his delight. All the required tools and a clear instruction manual were provided (we used the YouTube instructions instead) The assembly of this bike ended up being a family project that all the children enjoyed.
What a beauty this bike really is! Its wooden structure, striking black and while design along with its tan handles and seat make this bike a vintage classic! It is stunning. The first thing you notice about this bike is the quality not only in the wood but in each element. The handles are soft enough for comfort but with superb grip. The seat is cushioned and comfortable, but also conveniently wipe clean. The solid tyres are strong and durable and it a relief to not have to worry about punctures whilst out and about.
The second thing you notice is just how lightweight this bike is which I sure will come in handy when it comes to carrying it home after my 3 year old decides he is too tired to ride anymore. It also has a very convenient carry handle. Was this designed by a parent? it is very well thought out!
This bike coming with 2 adorable accessories. The first is a bell, perfect for small hands and very simple to use. My 3 children have been playing with the bell for quite some time now and it is yet to get on my nerves as It has a soft and non-offensive ring.
The second accessory it hands down my favourite. I beautiful little bag that straps on to the front of the bike. Positioned perfectly for my 3 year old to use it independently whilst still sitting on the bike. The fabric is excellent quality, it is thick and durable. At looks as though it might be waterproof. It is the perfect size to bring a beaker, snack and small toy out on a trip.
Time to set off on our daily exercise allowance and for the first time all 3 children are genuinely excited as I am letting to older two ride their bikes because now their younger brother can join in. At first, I was worried that he may veer off towards the road, but I soon started to relax when I realised the bike has a very limited turning circle. He managed to keep a straight path fairly well for a first attempt. When we arrived at the park, with wide open spaces it was time for him to really enjoy his new toy! And to my surprise the bike was just as easily to ride in grass as it was on the pavement
The little bag was used to collect a variety of twigs leaves and stones. On our way home his little legs could not take any more and I carried both him and the bike with ease. After a good long rest, he decided that he definitely needed more time on his bike, but we had already used our daily walk. Conveniently tyres were incredibly easy to wipe clean meaning we could carry on the fun at home! I would recommend highly recommend this as a first bike.
