Karcher K2 Compact Home Pressure Washer Review

Reviewed by David Savage

I was delighted to receive the K2 Compact Home pressure washer from Karcher.

On opening the box I was greeted by an array of nozzles, tubes, detergent and of course the washer. There is some simple assembly required and on a quick glance at the instruction it looked like a daunting task but in reality it is much more simple and straightforward than it looks.

In the box there is a nozzle for normal cleaning tasks, one for particular dirty areas – providing up to 50% more cleaning power than the normal nozzle (check manual for items that cannot be cleaned using this as if can cause damage to some items) and a round  patio cleaner (T50) with small brushes. Also provided was a bottle of patio detergent for use with the T50 (the detergent cannot be used with the lance nozzles).

Once assembled and connected the outside tap I was ready to go. First using the standard lance nozzle I tested on my back wall. This nozzle gave a reasonably wide spray. I then used the Dirtblaster nozzle that gives a thin high pressure spray which as great removing grime off the steps. The T50 patio cleaner was next so I added the detergent and off I went, this is great for cleaning the patio and there is no splash back like when using the nozzles but seemed like more effort as required. I found the nozzles better but you can’t use the detergent with these.

Using the washer is simple, turn it on a pull the trigger although it was noisier than I expected. The washer is small and is light enough to carry once the handle is attached.

Storage is easy as everything unclips or if you have the space you can leave it as it is and the handle (trigger gun) can attach to the side of the washer.

Overall this is a very easy to use bit of kit and the high pressure is excellent at cleaning garden furniture, bicycles etc… If comes with a 4 metre hose and a reasonably long power cord (I only have a small garden so this was more than long enough for what I needed it for). I do have an outside tap so this made it a bit easier but it can also be used with a water butt.

The pressure washer quickly cleans built on grime and stubborn dirt very easily and quickly and is a definite must for all patios and garden furniture and small pathways.

Other smaller brushes and accessories are also available to buy and attach to give even more control on items you need a high pressure clean on.

I’m very impressed with its cleaning power and ease of use. Highly recommended.
