I am always on the lookout for new skincare items, so I couldn’t have been more delighted to be offered the opportunity to review HYPO21 Purifying Skin Spray.

I didn’t have to wait long at all for my parcel to arrive. It came in an outer plastic envelope and, inside, I found a plain black box wrapped with tissue paper and the spray nestled safely inside. There was even a cute little Twinings ‘Immune Support’ teabag included, which I thought was a nice touch.

The spray itself comes in a sleek black bottle with white lettering, a silver rim, and a plastic cap. It looks clean, modern, and instantly appealing.

I wasn’t familiar with hypochlorus acid (HOCL) before, so it was great that I was sent a very detailed leaflet, containing lots of information about the product, so I could read up on it, before my first application. I discovered that hypochlorus acid is a naturally occurring molecule produced by white blood cells as part of the body’s natural immune response. It is also naturally antimicrobial and helps reduce harmful bacteria on the skin without disrupting beneficial microbes that keep your skin in balance.

HYPO21 Purifying Skin Spray is the first ever MHRA Registered Pure HOCL skincare solution. As well as being vegan, organic and sustainable, it has an impressive list of benefits:
• Suitable for all ages
• Suitable for all skin types
• Made from 100% natural ingredients
• Supports the skin’s natural ability to soothe and repair itself from everyday irritations
• Ideal for calming skin that’s prone to rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, acne, and other skin sensitivities
• Hypoallergenic and non-irritating

By applying HYPO21 to your skin, you can activate an immune boost that helps heal your skin and return it to its natural state. What’s not to love about a product that can do that? It helps that the product is formulated to the same pH as your skin.

There are several useful applications for HYPO21 in respect of:
• Skin rehydration
• Wound recovery and skin-healing
• Skin infection control
• Suitable for acne and other skin conditions
• It can also be used following aesthetic procedures for quicker healing.

I had a couple of spots on my face, which I was hoping would clear quickly. HYPO21 Purifying Skin Spray needs to be used on clean, fresh skin, so once I’d removed my make-up for the day, I spritzed my face with approx. 4 pumps of the spray onto my face. There wasn’t much direction about how far away to hold the spray from my face, so I guessed approx. 15cm. A bit more information about this would be helpful for the future.

I found there to be a bit of contradictory advice as to how long the spray should be on the skin before blotting dry or for it to be air dried – with the leaflet saying 60 seconds and the bottle saying 10 seconds. Ultimately, this is generally irrelevant, as you don’t need to rinse it off, but a little clarification in this area would be welcome.

At the time of writing this review, I’ve used the product before putting my make-up on and after cleansing my face at night for around 5 days and I’m pleased to report no side effects. Also, I was genuinely impressed at how quickly my spots settled as they usually take a while longer.

As the product contains hypochlorus acid, there was a faint scent of chlorine when sprayed. Fortunately this wasn’t over-powering, as I generally expect a pleasant or fragrance free scent when using a ‘beauty’ product.

There are a number of HYPO21 products available at their online shop https://www.hypo21.co.uk/shop including an oral rinse and nappy care spray.

HYPO21 Purifying Skin Spray has an RRP of £52.99 for a 100ml bottle. At first glance, it seems like a high price point, but I think it’s a strong option for anyone with sensitive or reactive skin. If you sign up for their newsletter, you can get 10% off your first purchase, which is a bonus and would counter the delivery charge of £6.99, which feels a little steep considering the product is lightweight and manufactured in the UK.

Overall, I would recommend HYPO21 Purifying Skin Spray to anyone looking for a natural way to support their skin’s healing process. It would make a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift too.
