Hollywood Hair Extension Maker Review

I was very pleased to receive the Hollywood Hair Extension Maker to review as I have four granddaughters of varying ages and I knew that they would love to play at hairdressing salon with this toy, designing and creating hair accessories of their own.

The extension maker kit comes in an eye-catching cardboard carrying case which contains 12 hair extensions, 1 hair curler, 2 hair rollers, 5 hair clips, 2 markers, 1 spray bottle and 1 playbook as well as the attractive pink plastic extension maker.

My granddaughters, aged ten and five, had lots of fun drawing patterns on the ribbons to make their own individual designs and carefully following the instructions which explained how to make the extensions. The instruction leaflet has a diagram which shows how to put the ribbon into the machine. It can appear a bit tricky for a young child, but once they have got the hang of it, it is really quite simple. It helped that ten-year old Heidi was old enough to explain to five-year old Jasmine how to load the ribbon into the machine and push the button which transforms the ribbons into hair extensions. This toy is aimed at children over the age of eight, so younger children can still enjoy playing but will need adult supervision.

The extension maker kit contains 12 ribbons in various girly shades of mostly pink, purple and blue, which are luckily my granddaughters’ favourite colours. Five of the ribbons are already patterned but the remaining seven are plain so can be customised with the provided marker pens. My granddaughters enjoyed drawing swirls and patterns on the ribbons transforming them into their own unique style. They used the heatless curling wand, rollers and spray to create curls and waves. They used the curling wand to curl the ribbons by placing the roller onto the pink wand and wrapping the ribbon around it, spraying it with water from the spray bottle and leaving to dry for a couple of minutes. They then added the clips to the ribbons to create beautiful stylish extensions. The girls loved entertaining the rest of the family by putting on their own fashion show parading round with their lovely hair. Both girls have beautiful long blonde hair so adding funky coloured extensions made them feel very grown up and trendy. The set contains holders so the extensions can be put away safely and used on another occasion. As my grandchildren had so much fun playing with this set, I’m sure that they will continue to do so.

What I particularly like about the Hollywood Hair Extension Maker is that young children can play at beauty salon without using messy cosmetics. This is a toy which will be used by my grandchildren over and over again as the set includes holders for the extensions to keep them safe. This would be a perfect Christmas gift for an imaginative child who loves to express their creativity.
