We are living in a digital era, where there is an app for everything. Apps for the T.V, apps, for talking, apps for banking but more than ever there are apps for social media. Social media is taking the world by storm, branded the best way to stay in touch apps like Facebook and Snapchat are becoming more and more popular. At the heart of all of these apps though is video and photos.

With the Video Creator LED Deluxe it is easy and quick to create the videos and photos you want to publish on Instagram, You Tube and Twitch. Add even more style to your video backdrops with the LED Deluxe version of the Video Maker Kit from Studio Creator.

The Video Maker LED Deluxe Kit includes a telescopic tripod stand, adjustable up to 1m, a 20cm LED multicolour ring light with 3 white and 8 colour modes, a 2x2m large green screen and a 5m strip of Red Green Blue LED lights with a wireless remote.

There is one concern that I would have around the Studio Creator product being aimed at children who are 8 years+, and connecting their product with apps such as YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram. These brands are placed on the box stating that this product can be use specifically for these particular apps.

Whilst I appreciate, we are in a digital era and many of our young people have access to these apps, all of those apps have an age limit of over 13yrs. I cannot honestly say I feel it is appropriate that this product is aimed at children so young when the apps they affiliate with state clearly that their users must be significantly older. I as a 34-year-old woman have had all kinds of fun with this product and so has my 9 – year – old son but he will not be using it to create content for apps he legally shouldn’t have access to.

I am also not deluded to the notion that parents must be responsible for their own children, but I cannot help but question whose responsibility it is when advertising products to young children to ensure their safety, especially online. Unfortunately, there are some parents out there who are intellectually challenged and could see an age of 8+ on a box like this, sold in a toy shop, aimed at children, as a green light for their child having apps they are not emotionally or mentally mature enough to have access to regardless of the legal age limit posed on these apps.

The product as a whole is a great product and I would buy it to have fun with around the house, but I certainly do not recommend posting anything of your children on the internet. Nor do I recommend them having access to Apps that expose them to negative body image, insults, high sexual content, inappropriate language for children to hear and cyber bullying from trolls.
