If you want a fun night out, come and see the Happy Days: A New Musical.

The story fits loosely around the 50’s America favourite characters of Mr & Mrs Cunningham, Richie, Joanie and Chatchi, and of course, The King of Cool, The Fonz as they try to save their favourite diner, Arnold’s, from demolition.

The 2½ hour musical is packed with original songs with the “Happy Days” theme tune played at least three times throughout. You will be surprised to see Cheryl Baker playing the mother Marion Cunningham who surprisingly gets the best laughs throughout. Ben Freeman plays Arthur ‘The Fonz’ Fonzarelli, complete with Milwaukee accent and adds a lot to the show with his dynamic personality. Heidi Range (Sugarbabes) plays his on/off girlfriend in the story and adds a Stella performance with her voice.

The only downside is the lack of story to the whole musical and it would have been nice to have a few more recognisable songs.

Twitter fans will be pleased to know that the cast encourage fans at the end to take photos and tweet them!

It’s a good night out for the whole family, and well acted as well as uplifting.
