Happi Choc – Vegan Friendly Oat M!lk Chocolate
I have tried many different plant based chocolate brands as my son and I follow a vegan diet but I had not yet tried anything from Happi. So, I was intrigued to try the Happi advent calendar.
The advent calendar is bright and fun. It certainly caught my attention straight away. The box is much larger than most advent calendars I’ve come across. It is green like a Christmas tree with three fun characters that look like hanging decorations and the brand logo in large letters. The packaging is completely plastic free. The box and the inserts are all made of cardboard. I like that after Christmas everything will be able to be placed in the recycling bin.

The front of the box opens like a door, revealing the little doors inside. There are 24 in total counting down the days until Christmas and the numbers are randomly placed. I like the fun of spotting each day’s number! The design inside is just as fun as the outside, with bold lettering. There is also a box with some information about the company and a QR code to scan to learn more.
This may be a plant based chocolate calendar but there is still a variation of flavours. The calendar features three of the best selling flavours – plain, orange and salted caramel. The chocolates are oat based and made with Colombian cocoa. This makes them vegan friendly. There are still allergy warnings due to the factory they are produced in.

I love that each chocolate is also individually wrapped in paper, ensuring they stay fresh. They are small, bite sized squares. The three flavours are delicious, with salted caramel being my favourite. The chocolate is smooth and creamy. I particularly like how the salt offsets some sweetness. The plain flavour is also delicious, just to have that smooth slab to melt in your mouth. I am not usually a fan of the chocolate orange flavour, but I found the orange taste to be quite understated and enjoyable.
This is a very fun advent calendar that is ideal for all ages. It will equally delight children and adults and is perfect if you are seeking a plant based alternative. This is a bit more expensive than other advent calendars but I feel it is worth the cost as the box and the chocolates are high quality. Plus with everything being 100% plastic free, vegan friendly and slavery free, Happi is definitely a brand I want to buy from.
