I have had brand named boots in the past which have cost a lot more money and have to say, the Grub’s HIGHLINE™ 2.0 boots are far superior to any other I have worn. They are a high-performance, waterproof boots designed for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly those working in farming, gardening, or similar tough environments. They are so comfortable and their durability is amazing; especially now we have come into winter.  The ground is wet, boggy and muddy and these boots appear to hold up to all-weather capabilities. These boots are engineered to provide both practicality and long-lasting performance.

Design and Appearance
The HIGHLINE™ 2.0 boots feature a clean, functional design in a typical outdoor green colour, giving them a practical yet stylish look. They are designed to be knee-high, offering protection against deep water, mud, and other outdoor elements. The fit is snug around the calf, ensuring that water, dirt, and debris stays out while you are working outdoors.

The boots have a reinforced toe and heel area, adding extra durability in high-wear zones. The outer material is constructed from a high-quality, abrasion-resistant rubber, designed to withstand rough use in tough conditions.

I live in a very rural village with a lot of farming land, so I come across many bogs, pot holes on private roads, muddy fields and the village is known to flood on occasions. Whilst it did not flood during my trial of the boots, we did have a lot of rain and the boots kept my feet and lower legs super dry and warm.

Comfort and Fit
One of the key and most important things to me with the boots is their exceptional comfort. I have 2 golden retrievers and walk on average 4-6 miles a day. During that time, the boots were so comfortable, I forgot I was wearing them. They did not rub, nor give me blisters. Over a 7 fay period, I wore them 14 times to walk my dogs and I lost count of the other times in between walking them. They really were that comfortable, so much so, I have given my other brand named boots to someone else.

The boots are lined with a soft 6.0 technology fleece lining, which the company says; offers insulation and comfort in colder weather and they certainly do. This lining apparently; helps regulate temperature, keeping your feet warm without causing overheating in warmer conditions, making the boots versatile for year-round use.

The boots feature a cushioned insole, providing extra padding for long hours of standing or walking and OMG! This makes them so comfortable to wear and especially walk in, I felt like I was walking on clouds. The footbed is ergonomically designed, which really does give a better support to the foot arch and helps reduce tiredness during prolonged use. As I said above, I walk 4-6 miles daily and my feet did not tire. The boots are relatively lightweight, preventing the bulky, heavy feel that you may experience with other branded and non-branded boots.

The boots are a standard boot width and as I have slimmer legs it meant I had a gap at the top. There is a strap at the back where you can adjust and tighten the top of the boot. I have attached pictures for you to see both style and fit. You will see that I have adjusted the strap at the back of the boot on the right leg so you can see what it looks like.

Performance
In terms of performance, theses boots excel in challenging environments. The outsole is designed with multi-directional tread patterns, offering excellent grip on slippery surfaces, whether you are walking on wet grass, muddy paths, or uneven ground. I have put all of those to the test and they really do live up to their performance and quality. The boots have a slip-resistant tread which is really beneficial for anyone who is into farming, gardening, or
hiking or walking in harsh conditions.

The boots are resistant to a wide range of temperatures, meaning they perform well in both cold and wet weather. Apparently, as well as in moderately warm environments which I have not experience as yet due to getting them in the middle of October. They are insulated enough for colder days without being overly warm.

Durability
Grub’s pride these boots on their durability as a strong point of the HIGHLINE™ 2.0 boots. The tough rubber outer shell is built to last, standing up to abrasions, scrapes, and rough terrain without showing signs of wear. The sole is similarly designed for longevity, withstanding regular use in rugged outdoor settings.

Ease of Use
The boots are designed for easy on-and-off wear, and they certainly fit the bill. They really are very easy to get on and off. The flexible rubber material around the calf allows for some give when putting them on or taking them off, while maintaining a tight enough fit to prevent water from getting in. This is particularly useful for anyone wearing the boots in very wet or muddy environments, where protection from the elements is crucial.

Overall
These boots offer an excellent balance of comfort, durability, and performance for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors in rugged conditions. They are versatile enough to be used for farming, gardening, hiking, or even casual use in inclement weather. They are a durable, high-performing option for anyone who needs reliable footwear in wet or tough outdoor conditions. Their combination of comfort, protection, and durability makes them a great investment for those who need both practicality and performance in their boots.

Yes, they might be slightly more expensive than other basic boots, though the quality justifies the cost and as the saying goes ‘you only get what you pay for’.

HOW TO CARE FOR BOOTS – Information taken from Grub’s Website
BRUSH ME, WASH ME: Hosing down your wellies after each use and once a month wash off excess dirt with just water, for a deep clean use water with a mild soap. Gently scrub with a soft bristle brush until your boots are clean, then leave the boots to air dry naturally (not on a direct heat source).

OIL ME: Once dry, apply a rubber conditioner or natural oil to replace the lost plasticising agents in the rubber areas of the boot (especially flex points toe and ankle). We recommend customers to buy the Revivex rubber care spray which can be found on grubswarehouse.com

SIZING – Information taken from the Grub’s Website
I am usually a size 9, however, the 8 fitted perfectly. I do not have wide feet and with the thicker sock, they felt very comfortable.

Here is the information taken from the Grub’s website
Please note that our Wellington Boots have a 15mm allowance for wool blend/combination socks.

With this in mind, we would recommend purchasing the same size you are in your everyday comfortable footwear.

For half-sizing due to the allowance we would recommend sizing down.

On the Grub’s website they have a chart showing you the sizing of the boot height and calve widths, just click on the following link, scroll a little down below the image of the boots and you will see the chart information on the right side of the web page:-
