I have been waiting patiently since picked to review Greatest Days at Milton Keynes Theatre for Monday 3rd July to arrive. The wait was over tonight. And boy oh boy was it worth the wait. Ladies (and gentlemen) think Magic Mikes Channing Tatum, then multiply by five. This boy band is the hottest you will see this year!

I don’t even know where to start. I can tell you that I have seen the show under its previous name The Band twice, so I do know the story, but this new version is every bit as good as I remembered. The ENTIRE cast were just amazing.

If you don’t like Take That anthems, and I have to say who even are you if you don’t, then this is not the show for you, because the show is packed with hit after hit. It’s so incredible how the songs fit the story so well. This is a story about life, friendships, ambitions, heartbreak.

The show introduces five young girls obsessed with ‘The Band’ so Rachel, Heather, Claire, Zoe and Debbie all share a huge love for their favourite band. All of these actresses were incredible, they play a huge part of the story and set the scene for older grown up versions of themselves. The humour when they are both young and old really makes this show for me, gritty, truthful, honest. All played out with ‘The Band’ on stage belting out hit after hit. They have to be some of the hottest young men I have seen on stage for some time! They definitely relit my fire 🙂

The older versions of the girls deserve all credit as very believable ladies who had maybe lost their way in life, meeting up some 25 years after they last saw each other and wondering why they had lost so much time together. It’s a great story, of what friendship means and how your dreams as a teenager change so much once you become an adult. I loved Heather, both the young version played by Kitty Harris and the adult Heather played by Rachel Marwood, both strong sassy characters. All credit to Kim Marsh, what an amazing experience it must be performing every night alongside your daughter, Emily Cunliffe (young Rachel). Jamie Rose Monk as Claire, Holly Ashton as Zoe also shine to.

Honestly the music speaks for itself, everything and more was in there, stand outs for me A Million Love Songs, The Flood, Pray, Back for Good and well I could go on. At times the singing was just so perfect, such an emotional rollercoaster. It really is one of the very best shows I have seen, definitely up there in my top five. Not just for the music, but the story that so very many of us can relate to. Everyone should go out and live their best life every day, as you really don’t know what’s round the corner. You guys were awesome tonight … it really was the GREATEST DAY!
