Glow2Glow Fairy Finder Pink Jar Review

Remember the good old fashioned tamagotchi toys where you had to look after, feed and care for your pet, well, this is on a similar scale but so much more fun.

I was so excited to learn that I was going to be reviewing the Glow2Glow Fairy Finder Pink Jar. The main reason is that I have a couple of fairy houses in the garden for when the grandchildren, nieces and nephews come round. They are dotted around the garden and the children love them. They maintain their little area in which the fairies live and they also leave them food and water. I love to see them use their imagination and outdoor play is so important. So what better way for them to find the fairies than to use this jar and WOW, we had so much fun!

First of all, you will need to download the Find My Fairy App as this will enable you to see each of the fairy’s. It will also help you to see what they look like and learn some really fun facts about each of them too. Once you have the app you increase your chances of finding and collecting more fairies, including some ultra-rare ones too, just play some games and take your jar to a new location.

Whilst we do not know anyone else that has one of these, it seems that you are able to grow your own collection by trading with others.

The Glow2Glow Fairy Finder comes with over 30 virtual fairies to collect in the jar and each of the fairies have a name too. You can search for them just about everywhere, in the kitchen, bedroom, garden and even better still outside in the garden. As you open the heart shape lid on top of the Fairy Finder Jar, you can then watch a beautiful and magical light show once a virtual fairy finds its way into the jar.

We had so much fun and it is also encourages and stimulates interactive play. My 8 year old granddaughter was bowled over as each time she opened the lid and said “hello” to them, they would say “hello” back to her. She was so giddy and it encouraged her to find more. She also loved the fact that she could feed them and even more so, hug them. These are all done by pressing the little pink flower buttons on each side of the virtual LCD screen and there is one below it too. The jar and LCD screen has a number of colours when lit up, making it great fun in general as well as encouraging and stimulating sensory and learning play at the same time.

Whether it was in the house or outside, we also found out that you can look and catch fairies when you are upside down LOL! As we saw a clip on the internet, she laid on her bed, hung over the edge with the jar upside down and WOW low and behold, a fairy appeared.

HOW TO FIND YOUR FAIRIES
Turn on the jar and just open the heart shape flip lid on top of the jar. When you do this, the jar will then play lights and sounds whilst you are on the hunt for a fairy. When you find a fairy, the jar will alert you with a sound, you will need to make sure you close the heart shape lid on to of the jar to keep the fairy inside. From then, watch the LCD screen and you can then interact with it using the flower buttons I mentioned above. You can use the buttons individually or together for different interactions. For example, press the left button and the fairy will fly to the left of the screen, press the right and it will fly to the right. If you want to give a fairy a hug, just press and hold down both buttons at the same time and hearts will appear on the screen. The bottom button has a few uses; press once to feed and if you want to go on the hunt for another fairy, just press it twice.

GOOD TO KNOW
The jar comes in a plastic container and is secured at the bottom with two plastic screw type buttons. Take the base of the container off and you will be able to see where the plastic screw buttons are. I used a coin, just place the coin in the centre of it and twist. These come away and then you are able to take the jar out.

Batteries are required and you will need 3 x AA which are included. There are 3 functions on the base of the jar, On, Off and Try Me.
