Frugi has been a well-known brand in our household for many years. With 3 young children we’ve been through our fair share of clothes and have tried many different brands, but I’ve always loved the quality of Frugi’s clothing so when I was offered the chance to review one of their rompers I jumped at the chance.

I’m a huge fan of rompers at the best of times but, add in that it’s from Frugi, and I am one happy mummy. This romper is a brilliant addition to any young child’s wardrobe not only because the cuffs allow for extra growing room, no one likes to buy new clothes then have a growth spurt do they, but it also has a double zip (one of my favourite things when it comes to my babies’ clothes) which means an easier baby change. No unzipping the romper all the way from the top in the middle of the night, this way you can easily access the nappy and be getting your little one back to sleep without too much fuss. I noticed on the label that it states ‘cut4cloth designed to fit over cloth nappies’. Frugi was originally created by founders Lucy and Kurt as they struggled to find clothing that would fit over their son’s cloth nappy, so Cut4Cloth was created in 2004. They changed the name to Frugi, which means ‘Fruits of the Earth’ in 2008 but continued to develop clothing with cloth nappies in mind. I had intended to cloth nappy my youngest but I’ve never got up and running with it so I am not able to test this out. However, when I measured the romper against other romper brands I own there is definitely extra room around the hip/bum area.

The romper has a printed polar bear design on a blue background. The polar bears are printed on the material so no itchy stitching on babies’ skin plus the label at the back is printed on too, so you don’t need to worry about it irritating baby whilst they sleep, nice added bonus. I love the colour of the cuffs, but I have to say we disagree on the colour in this house. I think it’s red and the kids have said that it is orange. I’m choosing to ignore their opinion this time and go with my gut. The red cuffs make a great contrast to the blue and white on the main romper and really stand out when you are looking at the outfit. With sizing starting from 0 – 4 years if you are looking for matching pyjamas this Christmas these would be a great alternative to the more traditional Christmas themes.

For anyone looking to purchase a gift for a little baby or toddler I would highly recommend checking out the romper’s that Frugi offer. As a parent myself I would love to receive one of these as a gift and at £24-£26 you get your monies worth over the 6 months plus that you use them. Their clothing is hard wearing, and I’ve always been able to pass clothing down to my younger children so we’ve had plenty of wear out of them.
