Being a family who absolutely love going on adventures, having a suitable backpack to take along for supplies comes in rather handy. When children spend time playing outdoors in nature, it helps increase their wellbeing – and that of their families. It also means they’re more likely to care for our world and the natural environment. Considering what we have all been through these last 13 months, we have come to have a whole new appreciation for family time and awareness of well being. This bag is perfect for preparing your little one for a day of exploring the great outdoors, this Adventurer’s Backpack is inspired by the National Trust’s 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ activities and celebrates the wildlife that lives along the many miles of coastline in the charity’s care! The National Trust state on their website that the “50 things” list was inspired to encourage families to play in nature together and build an enduring connection with wildlife. They want children to explore their senses in the wild, care for plants and creatures, and reflect on their feelings in different landscapes. It’s not just a case of getting outdoors or learning the names of different birds – they want children to really explore the hooks, nooks and knobbles of nature in all different seasons, and build special memories to last. Research shows that these experiences of connecting with nature boost children’s physical, social and mental development. And it’s lots of fun too.

But it’s not just children and adults that benefit from nature. When we build a connection with nature, we’re more likely to care for it in return. This means children who explore and enjoy nature are more likely to look after it, stand up for it and take action to protect it as they grow older.

This fantastic backpack fully supports all adventures recommended by the National Trust. With its unique design, it has lots of space for all your little explorers essentials, the main pocket is large enough to fit A4 books and folders. It also has two stretchy side pockets that are great for popping water bottles. Ideal for school, this bag has an adjustable chest strap, shoulder straps and a soft padded back for extra comfort . Every purchase from the National Trust range supports their important conservation work, looking after nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever!
