Frankie & Benny’s Leigh Review

Reviewed by Lisa Lambert
We visited the Leigh branch of Frankie and Benny’s located on the Loom retail park in centre of Leigh. The retail park has ample parking for the shops, cinema and other restaurants there.
We arrived at 3.20pm and our table was booked for 3.30pm, we were specifically reviewing their lunch time menu which is served until 5pm.We were greeted after a short wait by Beth and she was extremely polite and helpful. She showed us to our table which was already set up and ready for us as I had asked for 2 high chairs for my 1 year old twins, and I was extremely impressed with the high chairs as they were the little one attached to the table so we sat in a booth and they felt very much part of the table and were able to reach all the food themselves.
Beth was very good she seated us with menus and took our drinks order straight away and asked would we like any garlic bread or dough balls to start with whilst we looked at the menus, now although these would have been added to the cost of the bill I liked that touch as most people would if ordering starters go for a garlic bread to share. We declined as I wasn’t sure what the children wanted.
After a short time we were ready to order and it was Beth who came over to take our order, she was very helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble especially when we asked for my daughters order to be changed slightly and for the vegetables to only be broccoli for the babies she took note of it all.
The starters arrived very quickly and I was impressed with how quick and the service, we all enjoyed them including the babies who had fun throwing more food on the floor than they eat (that’s 1 year olds for you).
We had a little wait for the mains, but wasn’t too long and they had provided colouring sheet s and pencil crayons for the older children to keep them occupied which was a nice touch.
Main meals, well mine was yummy and I loved every mouthful of it, the babies really enjoyed the chips and broccoli and my son demolished his hot dog, my daughter was a little bit more picky and it wasn’t so much anything wrong with the food more her taste as the chicken was chargrilled and she said it tasted burnt (it wasn’t burnt and was yummy just not Kaitlin’s taste). All through the meal the staff we attentive and re filled drinks when we asked and checked if everything was ok several times.
Once the mains were finished they came over and took our desert orders and I had a coffee again these were served really quickly which was good as the children especially the twins were starting to get a little restless. The desserts were yummy and there was not a crumb left at the end.
My Meal Choice from the lunch menu served 11am – 5pm daily and is £6.95 for 1 course, £9.45 for 2 courses or £10.95 for 3 courses
Starter – Garlic and Cheese Mushrooms
Main – BBQ Chicken Wrap with Fried
Side order – Onion Rings (additional cost)
Children’s meal choice from the large kids menu which start at £4.25
Starter – Garlic bread to share between all 4
Main – Chicken Pitta, Frankies HotDog (both from the Junior menu), Chicken strips for the twins from the kids menu
I would highly recommend this branch of Frankie and Benny’s the staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for you, very clean and well decorated.
They serve breakfast, lunch and evening meals and have an extensive choice on the menus. You can review their menus and find your local branch and opening times on the website.
