Foamie Christmas Set Review

Foamie started in Germany in 2018 and they have removed the soap in their products and made them perfectly pH-balanced for your skin and your hair. All the products are made in the UK so the carbon footprint is very minimal.

The Foamie coconut gift set came in a cardboard box that is fully recyclable. All the packaging that the gift set came in is also recyclable including the paper the giftset was wrapped in. Considering it had a candle in the set that was glass I was very surprised that it hadn’t smashed.

Both the body butter and the soap bar came with a QR code that you can scan with your smart phone and it takes you straight to a you tube video that shows you how to use both the products. Teenagers always have their phone on them so this is a good sell for them.

Teenagers are very aware of the environment at the moment and are becoming very conscious of the effect they are having on the environment with all the single use plastic that is on the market at the moment. As a result this gift set in my opinion is very good for an older teenager who is very aware of the impact the products they use will have on the environment.

When it comes to the products the body butter came in a tube that you have to push quite firmly from the bottom to be able to use the product easily. The packaging is very robust and when it was put under running water for a number of minutes the packaging did not disintegrate. This is ideal for when you are going away for the weekend if anything in your wash bag was to leak your body butter would be intact. This is also very ideal for teenagers and this living at the bottom of their make up bag.

Although the body butter went on a bit greasy this soon soaked into the skin and left it feeling nice and soft and not greasy at all. The product had a subtle coconut smell which lasted on the skin for an hour or so after applied and didn’t instantly wash off when it came into contact with water.

The soap bar had a handy rope attached to it to allow you to hang it in the shower. It created a good lather which isn’t always the case with soap bars. It had a very strong coconut smell and the smell from the bar hung up in the shower made the bathroom smell like coconut for the rest of the day. The shape of the bar wore down quite quickly so after the 3rd use it wasn’t as massaging as it was on the first use. But it was still in tact so lasted a long time. It left my skin feeling soft and moisturised after my shower.

The gift set had a very strong coconut smell which is lovely and not fake smelling at all. The candle burned very well and left the room smelling of a nice coconut smell. The only thing that would put me off getting this for a younger teenager is the fact that the gift set contained a candle and I wouldn’t want them lighting the candle in the bathroom and then getting distracted by their phone and leaving the candle burning unattended. If I was going to but this for a teenager I would buy if for an older teenager or even someone in their early twenties. I think that the company has missed a trick as the candle has not been branded which makes it look less expensive.

The other sell of this product that it is vegan so ideal for people in your life who are not only into saving the environment but also conscious of animal rights. Also it specifies that the products are not tested on animals which is another good selling point. Having a number of vegan friends in my life it is sometimes very difficult to come up with new and exciting gift ideas for them for either their birthday or Christmas. Foamie could therefore be a nice place to look at to see what new products they have available.

Apart from the packaging having one or 2 candy canes on it the gift could be nice as a birthday present.
