This item arrived with a lovely letter from Katherine Hetternan who created Easybelts. It explained how Easybelts was first started when Katherine’s children were younger. She had problems finding a belt that her child could manage. The letter also explains how the belt works ‘The EasyBelts has a Velcro strip which replaces the buckle-pin mechanism which many people find difficult to use. The Velcro strip slips through the D shape buckle and is folded back upon itself, thereby securing the belt and ensuring the belt stays fastened’.
The Easybelt we received was light pink with a darker pink stripe and also has 2 butterflies on the bit that folds back. It looks very pretty and appealed to my 19 month old daughter.
My daughter has clothes that although length is good they are too big on the waist, we have tried a belt with the S hook type fastening, however we found it kept opening and then her trousers would start falling down. As you can imagine not a great look!
The belt is adjustable and also elasticated. They sell different sizes on the website too and the choice of colours and also the motifs were great. We liked lots of different ones. We tested out the Easybelt to hold up some jeans when we went to a playgroup session. The belt fitted well through my daughter’s jean loops. The belt held my daughters trousers up perfectly. It did not open at all and I don’t think there would be any chance of that happening. They are however easy to open by pulling the Velcro bit when you need too. The product is well made and looks and feel s like it is made from good quality materials. We have used this belt at least 3 times since we have had it. It has not let us down at all. I think that this is a great product and I would highly recommend it to others with children. My daughter is only 19 months but once we start with the potty training I do not think this belt would hinder progress as it is very easy to open the Velcro, much easier and faster than a belt with buckles that is for sure. At £7 I think this product is great value for money and as soon as my daughter has grown out of this one I will be buying another in the next size up.
I have seen that they do adults belts on the website so am planning to order one for me as I often find belts with a buckle make holes in my tops and I won’t have this issue with the Easybelt.
