Like the rest of the world, I have spent the last 15 months repeatedly washing and sanitising my hands. The increased washing and regular application of alcohol sanitiser during the day has meant my hands have become very dry and chapped, especially between my fingers. Some days they are red raw and quite painful and a tube of hand cream is now just as essential as my phone and keys when I leave the house!

Over the last week my hands have been especially bad so I was thrilled to receive the Dr PAW PAW Hand Health Kit to review. The set contains a fragrance free 50ml hand sanitiser spray and a 25ml Dr PAW PAW Original balm, they are packaged in a bright yellow box which is quite eye catching and I also think the colouring of the box and products will appeal to both men and women.

According to the box the multipurpose antibacterial hand sanitiser spray can be used on hands and beyond. It kills 99.9% of bacteria with its powerful 80% alcohol content and 2 -3 pumps are adequate to sanitise your hands. The bottle is very easy to use and delivers generous spritzes with each pump. My hands have been especially dry and sore this week so I was a little wary the first time I tried the hand sanitiser as a lot of hand sanitisers do tend to sting my skin, I needn’t have worried though as I found that there was no sting with this product. A quick rub of my hands and the clear spray had absorbed into my hands perfectly with no stickiness at all. The 50ml bottle is the perfect size to keep in your bag, your desk or in the car so you can sanitise your hands whenever you need to.

The Dr PAW PAW Original Balm comes in a handy 25ml tube and is a fragrance free balm containing natural hydrating and calming properties that work to smooth, sooth and provide relief. The balm can be used on lips, hands and cuticles and also works especially well on dry cracked skin on the knees, elbows and heels. This multi purpose product can also provide relief from insect bites and minor abrasions as well as smoothing eyebrows. I tried it first on my chapped hands and after only a couple of applications I could see a real improvement in the skin. It not only calmed the redness but soothed the itchiness too. I also found it was great at hydrating the dry skin around my fingertips, preventing dry, raggy cuticles. I tried it on my feet too, as I have patches of eczema which are quite red and angry looking and I found, like my hands, a couple of applications was all I needed to calm it down.

The balm is quick thick, you do need to squeeze the tube quite hard to get it come out, especially if the tube is cold but once you have dispensed the balm a little goes a long way.

I am very keen on recycling and I was really pleased to read that all DR PAW PAW tubes are 100% recyclable. I was also pleased to find out that they strive to ensure that all their ingredients are ethically and sustainably sourced and their products are made in Great Britain.

This is a really great set and would make a lovely gift, why not treat your Dad for Father’s Day?
