I recently got my hands on this beautiful little box of organic spices, and honestly, I was super surprised. They are really special and there is a distinct difference in quality and taste from what I am used to. It changed my whole opinion on what I am using in the kitchen and putting in my body!

First off, the presentation is absolutely cute as pie! Steenbergs have nailed that rustic yet modern aesthetic with their kraft packaging and clear glass jars; it just feels wholesome, honest, and might I say a little classy. You can tell this isn’t a mass-produced, supermarket-style set. Everything about it whispers quality and care. It’s a perfect gift for a new cook or a connoisseur to try a brilliant UK business.

Inside, you get 16 mini jars of organic herbs and spices, perfectly chosen to stock your kitchen or, in my case, my camper van cupboard. The set includes everything from everyday essentials like basil, thyme, and mixed herbs to warming spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, plus a few with a little extra personality like Madras curry powder, paprika, and mace. It’s basically your entire flavour journey in one tidy little box.

Because the jars are mini, they don’t take up much space and that’s a big win for me. They are jam packed as well, not like you often find with superstore products where there is an inch or two of air at the top. When I’m off on my camper van adventures, space is precious, but I still want to cook properly and enjoy good food. With these, I can easily fit a full spice rack in one small box, and it looks neat and beautiful every time I have it out in the van.

It’s also brilliant for trying out new flavours. You’re not committing to a massive jar of something you might only use occasionally; instead, you get to experiment, taste, and then decide which ones to restock later.

There’s another reason I love them, these teeny glass jars are reusable, so once I’ve used them up, I can refill them with fresh spices, maybe from Steenbergs again or even from local zero-waste stores. It feels good to know I’m not creating extra plastic waste or those supermarket jars where the tops simply don’t come off so you can’t refill!

Beyond the camper van, I can see so many other uses for this set. It would make a perfect gift for a student heading off to university, you know how these gen alpha kids these days love a touch of luxury in their first kitchens! It’s practical, sustainable, and it looks great lined up on a shelf. It’s also ideal for holiday homes, canal boats, or weekend cottages, where you want to have a bit of everything on hand without taking up all the space.

If I was to be picky the only downside is as it’s a gift you don’t get to choose the ingredients but then this gives you an opportunity to try new things and you’ll probably run out of your favourite spices faster than you’d like but that’s just a sign of how good they are.

Not only are the products lush but so are the people behind it. A lovely family-run business based in North Yorkshire, UK, and they’re all about doing things the right way. Fairtrade, they keep things small-scale and transparent, blending and packing everything themselves rather than outsourcing it, meaning you’re getting ingredients that are as close to their natural origin as possible. Their factory runs with green energy, low water use, eco materials, and is even carbon neutral proper planet-friendly stuff which is super important to me. They might cost a little more than the big supermarket brands, but honestly, that’s because they’re genuinely ethical and that’s worth every penny.

Overall, the Steenbergs’ Store cupboard Minis are a fantastic blend of quality, ethics, and practicality. It’s an excellent way to discover new herbs and spices while keeping your kitchen or camper van beautifully organised. For me, it’s the perfect balance between mindful living and a love of great food. A small box with a big impact and a delicious one at that.
