Dinosaur Zoo is an interactive and informative show, which is suitable for children aged 3 and over. An Australian puppeteer named Kaitlyn Rogers, who is witty and interesting to watch, narrated the show.

The show aims to educate the viewers of the dinosaurs that ruled in the southern hemisphere, known as Gondwanaland (this was made up of Australia and New Zealand).

My 4-year-old daughter is a huge fan of dinosaurs and has been looking forward to seeing Dinosaur Zoo Live since I showed her the trailer of the show last year. I attended the show on the Saturday afternoon at the Palace Theatre in Manchester and the attentive ushers showed us to our seats. The children in the audience were completely engaged and enthralled with the realistic puppets. They were so lifelike that my daughter thought that they were real dinosaurs. She was so excited and engaged throughout the whole show.

Kaitlyn explained that all of the dinosaurs in the show were puppets. However, I think that the majority of the children forgot about this as soon as she told them, which added to the illusion of the performance.

The show contained a variety of dinosaurs of all sizes and personalities. Thus, it would have been more interesting for the children with short attention spans if there had been more dinosaurs. The venue was quite large so only a selection of children chosen from near the front of the stage was able to go up and meet the dinosaurs. However, they solved this problem by allowing you to meet and greet the dinosaurs at the end of the show.

Overall, this was a fantastic Saturday afternoon family day out. We all came out with smiles on our faces. I would rate this show 5/5.

Educational and fun for all ages.
