Dear Santa at the Theatre Royal Nottingham Review

A child writes to Santa before Christmas. After trying to find a special present with his Elf, Santa finds the perfect one and delivers it on Christmas Eve. The play is based on the book with lots of extras to make it that little longer.
Lots of Super Excited Children!!
From the moment the red curtain arose the children were engrossed, the audience fell silent.
The stage was beautiful and full of detail and colours that all matched the books – both halves of the stage, one being Santa’s workshop in the North Pole and the other Sarah’s bedroom, clearly representing what the audience anticipated.
The story portrays a lovely moral behind the true meaning of Christmas as Sarah offers to give all her Christmas presents to less fortunate children that may get none. This was truly inspiring and lovely to see a performance teaching the children such a kind gesture.
The show really did reflect Christmas magic with sing alongs and even opportunities for children to get on stage and be involved. Santa’s face never dropped as he kept upbeat jolliness throughout the show. The elf and Sarah were brilliant with all the children when they were on stage very interactive.
Dear Santa was an outstanding performance for 2-7 year olds – my two children adored it especially when they were encouraged to get out of their seats and dance and sing! “I love this mummy” was my four year olds response as she clapped through the last song!
After the show all the children get to meet Santa and the elf and Sarah and are given goodie bags and a of course a group photo of wanted.
I would definitely recommend this production to friends, family with young children, such a beautiful way to start Christmas.
