We already own the CASDON Hetty vacuum cleaner and deluxe Hetty cleaning trolley which my little girl adores playing with. She potters around the house (whilst I’m actually hoovering and cleaning!!) and she pretends to look ever so exhausted by the never ending chores which she so tirelessly endeavours to complete. It’s so cute to watch her as she imitates me with her little hoover ‘humming’ along merrily whilst sucking up the occasional crumb! I sometimes even sprinkle down some flour for her to clean up. She gets a real sense of achievement and pride from seeing all the flour getting sucked away!
When the opportunity came for me to review the Dyson Supersonic and Corrale Deluxe Styling Set, I knew my daughter would be in her hair dressing element…a salon sanctuary!!

The packaging is sleek, aesthetically pleasing and really helps to show off the CASDON Dyson products that it houses so beautifully. All the packaging can be recycled too which is always an added bonus.
In order to make the interactive parts of the styling set work, you’ll need to purchase 5 x AAA batteries – please note that these batteries are not included within the set. The hair dryer takes 3 x AAA whilst the straightening irons take 2 x AAA batteries. The batteries are found within plastic housing sections on both the hair dryer and straighteners, with little screws holding shut the lids and preventing access to the compartments. This prevents little fingers from touching things that they shouldn’t!
I absolutely love how the toys act and work just like the real deal (except with no heat or danger involved!). The hair dryer has an on and off switch lighting up the ‘power’ display panel whilst it bursts into sound, whirring away and blowing a light stream of air out, giving the true effect of an operational hair dryer. My daughter was thrilled to hear the noise it produced and watch my hair flapping in the breeze it created! The nozzle attachment or diffuser can be easily added onto the hairdryer by ‘clicking’ it into place or pulling it off. My 4 year old managed to do this without any difficulty or even requiring any assistance to change them over.
The hair straighteners (when switched on), create a red light and sizzling sound as the heat plates get squeezed together. Please note, there is absolutely NO heat produced, so our precious bundles will not suffer any burns, nor will it pose a ‘fire’ risk to any materials the straighteners come in contact with! Again, there was just absolute sheer delight as my little girl watched and listened to the light and sound effects from this gadget. The realistic sounds bought such joy to my little one’s role-play which in turn, made me a very happy Mummy too!! There’s even a little hair straightener stand included, so just like Mummy’s, they can’t ’burn’ the surface they’re placed on.
Both the detangling comb and barrel brush look identical to their adult counterparts so complement this set nicely and means we can properly use these items on each other’s hair.
We are now spending many an hour role playing hair salons whereby I receive the full hair treatment works and my little girl loves acting being a hair dresser which is one of the very many jobs she dreams about doing when she grows up one day!!
The only (very small!) caution I have with this product is the barrel brush. Wrapping my long locks around that brush, has caused a few tangling issues to say the least!! Maybe explain to your children that it’s for brushing hair only, not wrapping hair around it – no one wants an uncomfortable mess of knots!!!
The product is aimed at children aged 3+ years due to potential swallowing hazards from small parts.
This is a fabulous product which was a welcomed addition to my daughter’s ‘dressing stand’ collection! With Christmas in the not too distant future, this makes for a great present to go under the tree too (just don’t forget to buy a spare pack of AAA batteries). Priced at £40, it is a quality present that will bring lots of fun and entertainment!!
