We don’t often think of our beauty regime as including our feet, but over the years I have to say that mine has expanded to do just that. Maybe it comes with age; the appreciation of having feet that not only look good but are healthy and feel good too. This means I now spend time and money on pedicures and looking after my feet. One of my priorities is the ongoing battle I have with hard skin. It something I’ve always had issues with that comes from long periods of standing and walking as well as the lovely new shoes that cause the appearance of hard skin where you didn’t even realise you needed it. So, the idea of using a foot peel to remove that skin to make my feet feel soft again was very enticing.

I received the Cultivary Exfoliating and Peeling Foot Mask in a simple box featuring straightforward and succinct instructions on how to use the masks. There are 2 pairs contained in the packet, each contained within a sealed silver sachet. Upon opening the first one I discovered that the masks are large plastic socks: sealed to contain the ingredients of the masks which are in liquid form. The socks are attached but can be torn along perforations. Each sock then needs to be cut open with scissors. They feature a sticker at the top so that once the sock is fitted to your foot you can seal them around your ankle to secure them and prevent any leakage. The socks are to be worn for between 60-90 minutes. Although it is possible to walk around in them, I highly recommend not doing this. Grab yourself a cuppa and a book and prepare to sit and chill while the magical ingredients do their stuff – it is pamper time after all.

I made sure I had a towel to hand to wipe off the mask before rinsing my feet off in the bathroom. My feet felt incredibly soft afterwards and the mask smelled lovely. According to the instructions, the skin will start to peel off 1-2 days after wearing the socks – there were no signs yet. True to form on day 2 I awoke to my feet looking rather scaley and with large amounts of skin peeling off. This wasn’t uncomfortable but meant I was shedding a lot – I don’t recommend doing a barefoot yoga class like this! I let the skin peel naturally for a couple of days then applied an exfoliating scrub to help remove the rest of it, followed by a good moisturiser. My feet were like new and felt very soft.

I thought the mask was effective and a lovely way to treat your feet and would make a great Christmas present! The process is very straightforward and with no mess and is easy to do. It’s important to note that the masks will remove the skin on the tops of your feet as well as the bottom, so may not look good if you are planning on wearing cute little sandals in the summer. It would be nice to have a foot mask that is in a tray or patch form to target the harder skin on the bottom of the foot, whilst leaving the healthier skin in place.
I did really enjoy using this mask and still have a second pair for future use. It has been effective in removing the hard skin and has left me feeling pampered.
The masks can be purchased at https://cultivary.co.uk/products/exfoliatingpeelingrosefootmask for £15 which is a great price for 2 treatments considering the price of a pedicure with hard skin removal in a salon.
Rating: I give it a 4/5 and would be a great little stocking filler, why not enlighten someone who enjoys looking after themselves but may not even be aware that a foot mask is a thing!
