Salford Quays, Manchester

I am a big fan of Chiquito's, so when I was asked to review the new menu I jumped at the chance.
On arrival to Chiquito – Salford Quays we were quickly greeted by an attentive waiter who seated us in a booth and went to get our drinks.
Upon reading the menu, I decided to have nachos for starter, fajitas for main and churros for dessert. My partner chose the new proper garlic bread and BBQ chicken wings for starter, Peri Peri chicken for main and a chocolate brownie for dessert.
We waited a while for our drinks and even longer for our order to be taken. The service is usually very fast, however on this occasion it was not so.
The new menu includes free popcorn to each while you wait, I did not enjoy this and found it a downgrade from the free nachos on the old menu. I was very disappointed at this change.
The starters were lovely, as were the main meals. I found that the fajitas were quite large and I ended up giving half of it to my boyfriend (who has a large appetite). He thoroughly enjoyed his Peri Peri chicken and has said that is his ‘new meal’ at Chiquito's.
Finally the desserts arrived. I had only had churros once before, a long time ago and as soon as I saw them on the new menu I knew that they would be my dessert. They were better than I had remembered, they were delicious. The chocolate brownie my partner had was just as good, as the desserts always are at Chiquito's.
This meal was lovely, the service was average but overall we had a very nice evening.
