Chicco Polly Magic Relax Highchair Review

This has to be one of the best highchairs I have seen in a very long time.

I am usually old school, basic highchair, with an attitude, ‘do not spend too much as baby will grow out of it’. Yes, that is true but this highchair is absolutely great and amazing value for the money.

I was astounded to learn, try and see how all the various positions on this free standing highchair worked and I most certainly was not disappointed.

The features and are as follows:-

1. 3 reclining backrest positions
2. 3 positions for use with the tray
3. 8 amazing height positions
4. 3 adjustable settings for leg and foot rest

The highchair has 4 wheels (2 of which are lockable and have swivel motion) making it easy to manoeuvre from one room to another and it is really compact when folded, making it easy move on the wheels and to store away when it is not in use.

The quality of the material is so comforting, it is really soft, stylish, fashionable and very elegant. The material is also washable and washes up lovely, be sure not to put it on too much of a hot wash though. Day to day use, the material is great for just wiping any mess down.

The dual-phase cushion that comes with the highchair is awesome. On one side of it catering for the summer and warmer days, it has a breathable mesh and then the other side to cater for winter and colder days, it has a warm and softer fabric.

I love the fact that the highchair also comes with a bar that sits above the chair for baby to play with. It has various actives to play with such as the following:-

The tray can also be removed and attached to your own table, making baby or toddler feel closer to you and joining in at the dining table with you. What makes the tray so versatile is that is locks in nicely on the bottom of the back of the highchair when not being used or stored away. The tray also has a transparent protective cover which has a section to place a beaker or cup on, this can be lifted off and used separately.

There is also an extra padded liner which is mainly used for small babies and this can be removed as baby grows up.

This is such a versatile highchair due to the fact that it can also be adapted and used as a baby bouncer and with the toys hanging for baby to play, it also gives them the opportunity and chance to learn, play, touch, feel, making this a great sensory way of learning too. This can be used in any of the positions, with or without the tray too.

One thing I need to point out is that I do not have carpet, therefore, I am unable to say how easy it is to manoeuvre on it. I have a porcelain tiled floor and it moves or should I say, glides effortlessly. Once folded or getting it out of the cupboard, I just slide it across the floor to where I want to position it, it is so easy.

Carrying and unfolding the highchair could not be any easier. The sides of the highchair has to circles, each of them have a half moon section which allows you to put your finger in, hands around and then just lift and slide. As the highchair is self standing it can also sit nicely up against the wall should you not have anywhere to store it.

Using it as a baby bouncer is recommended from 0 months +
As a highchair, it is advised to use it from 6 months +
Using it from chair to the table, again, it is advised from 6 months +
Has a 5 point harness
Comes with a 12 month manufacturers warranty
As with any baby or toddler, I would personally recommend not leaving them unattended

I have to say, Chicco have really put a lot of thought into this highchair and the specifications. From the hanging toy to making sure baby and toddler are comfortable in their seat with breathable and warm fabrics.

Rating: It is a definite yes from me to anyone who is thinking of buying this and I would give it 5 out of 5.
