I really need to increase my daily water intake so having the opportunity to review the Brita Active Water Filter Bottle was ideal for me.

The Brita Active Water Filter Bottle arrived quickly with a lovely note.  The bottle was sent in a jiffy envelope so not ideal from a recycling perspective but as we reuse these in our house it was fine. (EDITOR’S NOTE – this was a press sample. Normal consumer ones are not packaged in this way)

The Brita Active Water Filter Bottle I received was pink but Brita also make green and blue.  The main body of the bottle is grey.  It is squeezable and is the size of a normal water bottle so will easily fit into standard cup holders.  The bottle is 600ml in size and has a silicon carry loop and the mouthpiece is pulled up to drink.  The bottle comes with a detachable lid which could double up as a cup, if required. It is BPA free and fully dishwasher safe (other than the filter).

The Brita Active Water Filter Bottle comes with really useful picture instructions which show you how to instal the filter in your bottle.  The packaging is made of thin cardboard so fully recyclable.

The selling feature of the Brita Active Water Filter Bottle is that it filters tap water as you drink.  This is to help reduce chlorine, impurities and micro partials without losing any of the key minerals in the water.

The filter should be changed every 60 litres.  You can buy a pack of 3 filters for around £10.  Brita state that the bottle is an eco friendly and cost-efficient alternative to buying bottled water.  It would be useful if the filter had an indicator as I am not sure I would be diligent enough to know when I have had 60 litres.

Before you use the bottle, you need to wash is thoroughly and soak the filter in water for at least a minute.

The water from the bottle tastes like water.  I didn’t really taste a difference to normal tap water but you just feel better knowing that the filter has removed the nasties.  You have to suck quite hard to get the water out so it is better to squeeze the bottle and squirt it into your mouth.

I like the feel of the Brita Active Water Filter Bottle.  It is nice to hold and feels very durable.  I tend to drop things and this bottle is robust enough to survive that.  It does feel like a quality product and the price is very reasonable.

It is a shame that Brita do not do larger bottles to encourage people to their required daily intake.  Although I appreciate that the size of the bottle may not be practical.

You can buy the Brita Active Water Filter Bottle from various retailers.  It is currently on sale at Amazon for £9.33.  The RRP is £13.  This is good value for money for a quality water bottle which I can see lasting.

You can buy the Brita Active Water Filter Bottle from Amazon – BRITA Active Water Filter Bottle, reduces chlorine and organic impurities, BPA free, Pink, 600 ml .
