Braun Waterflex Shaver Review

Reviewed by Scott Briggs

I was sent the Braun Waterflex shaver to review and received the box with much anticipation! It arrived in a shiny black box and I was pleasantly surprised to find one of the best looking shavers that I have come across.

I received the blue and black version with rubber feel grippy sides and a high shine finish to the middle and a single button. It comes complete with blade guard, cleaning brush and charger cable for a shaver socket, you would need to equip yourself with a plug if you wanted to charge in a 3 point wall socket.

There is a beard trimmer to one side which slides up and is really powerful, it glides through stubble with ease and slides back into the body when not in use.

I have had many brands of electric shavers in my time and my main problems are hair pulling, pain, shaves not being smooth enough and missed bits!

I tried my first shave dry after using the trimmer and literally for the first time ever, I didn’t have a single snag or plucking of the hair at any point, the shave was close and took minutes to finish.

The head of the shaver swivels 33 degrees and smoothly changes angle around the face. The next shave I tried was a wet shave with shaving gel, although initially apprehensive at the thought of taking an electrical device under water, it comes with a safety feature of not working whilst on charge so I couldn’t get in too much trouble! The body is completely waterproof and with the shaving gel on, I achieved the same baby smooth finish that I would have with a disposable razor.

The only thing I struggled with was the lack of mirror being in the shower!

The battery is Li-Ion rechargeable and charges in one hour with an option for 5 minute charge per shave if you’re in a rush.

The fully waterproof body meant that the cleaning was so simple with a rinse under the tap and a tickle with the brush provided, it took seconds!

For the money, the shaver is an absolute deal, I have not used a razor since and saving pounds every week not buying them as the shave is so close and I’ve been experimenting with different lubricants and oil has given me the softest shave. It would have been useful to have a bag included to keep the charger with the body for travel, but it’s not been a problem.
