When choosing baby clothes I am immediately drawn to the pretty or unusual prints, and Paddington is the most iconic and cutest little bear, so of course any clothing with him on it is going to win me over.

The print is clear, not too busy and can be worn by all babies, not just boys or girls. It is a very unisex print and style. The images of Paddington stand out on a cream base, and there is a red trim around the sleeve and leg holes. Paddington has his little picnic basket and jars of marmalade.

After the print, there’s how it feel, and this romper is so soft and has the right amount of stretch. It isn’t stiff at all and is floppy enough for baby’s free movement.

There is a zip down the front, with red trim and a little piece of fabric to cover the top of the zip so it doesn’t irritate baby’s chin or become a chew target. The bottom doesn’t have poppers for you to access the nappy, but the zipper is quick and easy. I don’t have a particularly wriggly baby this time round, but my eldest would have been off over the floor with one leg still in the romper.

To be honest, I do prefer the look of the romper with the zip than poppers and it does definitely help when dressing and undressing, rather than taking it off over the head.

You can pair the romper with accessories and other items, which can be found on the link below. There is a gorgeous little summer hat, and matching bibs and squares amongst the items. There are also other items in the Paddington range, such as sleep suits and Blade and Rose’s signature leggings.

Quality wise, I expect fantastic quality from this brand, and this item did not disappoint. It is very well made and I know from having some of their other pieces, they wash very well. Obviously I only had a short time for wear and wash, but I had no issues at all with losing quality or shrinkage etc. I do know from their other items, that they keep their prints well and stand up very well to repeat washes on baby cycles. The romper is 100% cotton, which shows in how it looks and feels. All items have Oeko Tex 100 certification, which means that no harmful chemicals were used in their clothing production. It really is important to check how clothing is tested, so it’s good to see this certification.

Finally, it fits really well! Which is one of the most important factors when choosing baby clothes. There is just enough stretch in the arm holes that baby can move freely but they don’t gap or look odd. It’s actually, a perfect fit. I was sent size 6-12, and baby is 5 months, but on the chunkier side so going into 6-9 clothes now. Whilst this romper fits them now, it will definitely fit for a while with no issues. There is a good amount of room and stretch, so no need to worry about the romper not lasting the summer.

They’re a British clothing brand, ran by a family, so their customer service is fantastic too. I recommend looking out for their super cute leggings ranges! I remember Blade and Rose launching about a year after having my eldest (2010) and was immediately in love with their products and work ethic.

I give this romper 5 out of 5 stars, and would definitely recommend it for your baby, or as a gift for an upcoming event such as Fathers Day. What a lovely idea for a new dad, a childhood favourite character for their little one.

You can find this gorgeous romper here https://bladeandrose.co.uk/products/paddington-lets-have-a-picnic-summer-romper for an RRP of £15. I think the price point is great, as you are paying for the quality, testing involved and super cute prints which have been brought to life by a British business.
