Barking Heads Baked Treats for Dogs – Apple Snaffles Review

My dogs, Ralph and Teddy and their doggy friends Benji and Chloe were very, very excited when I gave them the Barking Heads Apple Snaffle Baked Treats to test and review. Both Benji (Labrador) and Chloe (Rottweiler) wolfed down their apple snaffles treats. Ralph and Teddy (Chorkies) being smaller, needed theirs breaking down into smaller pieces before they ate theirs. All dogs enjoyed their treats and none had any side effects from trying a new product.

The apple snaffle treats smelt amazing and looked very much like a biscuit that anyone could eat. They are made from 100% natural ingredients, including oats, rice, vegetable shortening, dried apple, yeast extract, peanut butter, cinnamon, vanilla and ginger. The ingredients are gluten-free, which is great for dogs who suffer with a delicate tummy. They are also vegetarian, hand-crafted and are stamped with a very cute dog motif and are small batch baked and are free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.

The apple snaffle treats that the dogs sampled are about the size of a £2 coin and look very much like shortbread, which make them appealing. They smell amazing, you can smell the apple and the cinnamon. I only have to open the bag and the dogs come running now.

It is lovely to see a company that makes all-natural treats and food and for dogs (they also make food and treats for cats) and that the company hand-crafts them using all natural ingredients. It shows that a lot of thought and love is poured into their products and that they are not a company whose main aim is to make a profit by mass producing food and treats, but whose main concern is the use of natural ingredients and making their products are the best that they can be.

The feeding guide with the daily suggested feeding amounts surprised me, it seems like a lot of treats for one day and I would probably not follow the guidelines.

The recommended retail price for this product is £2.99, which I think for a product with natural ingredients is great value. If you go on the Barking Heads website (www.barkingheads.co.uk), you can buy them for £2.99 or you can subscribe and save and pay just £2.69 for a pouch to be delivered every 4 weeks, or you can purchase more packs, which reduces the price you pay further.

Looking on the Barking Heads website, I can see many other products that I will be purchasing to see if Ralph and Teddy like these as well. When you first sign-up to their website, they also offer you 15% off your first delivery which is great. I would highly recommend these treats as all the dogs who tried them loved them.
