Aroma Energy Life Wax Melt Set and Sweet Dreams Roller Ball Set Review

Aroma Energy is an online based company which specialises in essential oils, scented candles, wax melts and fragrance oils. I was asked to review two lovely items as part of this review and I have to say it was a pleasure.

The Aroma Energy Life Wax Melt Set arrived well packed and in an attractive cream box with the eye-catching Aroma Energy logo. I was delighted to open the box and find four different scents created from blends of various essential oils. The packs are each in cellophane with different coloured labels which added to their appeal as a gift idea. Each is made up of 10 blocks and weighs around 50g.

They are made from rapeseed and coconut wax, making them vegan, cruelty free (to both animals and the environment) and paraben free.

To use the wax melts, you do need to have a wax oil burner; you add 2 or 3 pieces to the well of the burner and light the tea light below, allowing the wax to melt and the fragrance to be released.

The first block, the Anxiety Blend, is to help you relax, with a beautiful lavender fragrance balanced by bergamot and ylang ylang. The Sweet Dreams pack was similar in scent, but slightly more dominated by the lavender to aid sleep, with ylang ylang and chamomile. The Relax and Unwind set has the lavender and bergamot balanced by lemongrass, which is probably my favourite blend as I do love lemongrass and lavender coupled together. The surprise to me was the Breathe Easy melt with eucalyptus, Scots pine and rosemary. I did not expect to like this but it is so fresh and perfectly timed for a household of “bunged up” noses and really did the trick! They really are beautiful scents, and fill the room very quickly. You cannot help but feel relaxed with the aroma and the tea light after a long day.

They make for a thoughtful gift as they look well finished with the packaging, but the price of £6.99 is fantastic and there are so many scents to choose from. Even if your Mother doesn’t currently use wax melts, the burners don’t have to be expensive so you could buy a set for a perfect Mother’s Day gift.

The second item was the Sweet Dreams Roller Ball Set. I have a friend who is forever using oils to help her children for their various anxieties or sleeping issues and she’s a fan of roller ball bottles. This is new to me, but I have always found the idea fascinating and wondered if I should give them a try.

You can roll them directly onto the skin, focusing on the pulse points. It is advised for best results you should use them on the temples, back of the neck, soles of the feet and the back of the wrists. They are therapeutic grade, cruelty free and vegan.

The outer packaging is similar to the wax melts. The three 10ml bottles within this set are around 8cm in height so easy to keep in your handbag. The glass is pharmaceutical grade in terms of safety, and the roll top glides nicely.
The three scents are used for anxiety; Relax and Unwind, which has a blend of lavender, bergamot and lemongrass. The Sweet Dreams bottle was a lighter, sweeter scent with lavender, ylang ylang and chamomile. The lavender scent smells as you would expect!

I did use the Sweet Dreams bottle at bedtime and it was certainly a pleasant fragrance to read my book with and very relaxing as I nodded off. I tried the others during the evening and was surprised to find that they didn’t “get under my nose” or irritate me, but smelled very pleasant. I love the idea of using something natural to help me relax; it’s certainly better than a glass of wine!

The fragrance didn’t seem to last very long, so it may need to be reapplied as required.

The blog on the website detailing how to use essential oils is really well communicated and so helpful to someone like myself who is new to this so it is well worth a read.

As a gift idea for Mother’s Day this is so thoughtful and practical as oils can really help your Mum to relax, particularly if you buy oils focused on particular concerns. The £7.99 price tag is very reasonable for the set of three, but you can buy the bottles as single items too!
