Air Play is a spectacular show for all ages, you will not be disappointed if you choose to see this performance. My husband and I are in our 30s and loved every bit of it, we just wished we had taken both of our young children to see it too as they would have been spellbound. The show is aimed at ages 6-106 but there were younger children at the show who were having a ball.
This circus style adventure, enchanted us with flying umbrellas, fabrics dancing in the wind and the most amazing giant snow globe you will ever see, it was truly beautiful.
The show uses giant fans to create a stunning performance with a range of proper which create a visual masterpiece. Performed by husband and wife team Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, Air Play combines their circus and street theatre performance art with the sculptural artistry of Daniel Wurtzel.
My favourite part of the show was when the duo were inside the larger than life balloons. It was fantastic and had the whole audience in an uproar or laughter.
It’s not just the visual aspects of the show that make it so good, it’s the personalities of the two performers. Their facial expressions and whole body movements were captivating, I couldn’t take my eyes off them.
This was probably one of the most interactive, engaging shows I have seen. They had the whole audience working together to get the balloons back to the stage, yet every time someone touched it, it seemed to go in the wrong direction, the children in the audience loved this and there was a little girl behind me who was giggling her head off.
The show lasted for 60 minutes which was a lovely length, especially for the little ones attending.
I would rate this show 5/5 and recommend it to everyone.
