I have been given the opportunity to review two sets of Stabilo pens.  The first set of pens are the pen 68 metallic collection, the second set is the Stabilo Original Boss.

I love crafting and have an eclectic set of pens, however I have never tried the Stabilo pen 68 metallic set.  The pens come in a lovely metal tin, great for storage, and keeping the set together.  The tin also shows the 8 pens inside, the nib size and states that the best results or when used on darker paper.

Inside the tin you will find 8 different metallic colours, light blue, dark and light green, pink, purple, gold ,silver and bronze.  The pens have the colours printed on their sides which are very close to being the actual colour, they also have a 1.4mm nib.  The packaging does say that you will achieve the best results when using darker paper, and I must say the effects are really good, especially when the light hits your artwork. I also tried on white paper and vellum, both also gave really good results.

When working with vellum some pens take ages to dry and smudge.  The pen 68 Metallic Collection worked really well, dried really quick with no smudging or transfer.  My favourite colours are the blue and the bronze.  They look fantastic as the light hits them.  The 1.4mm nib gives great coverage, the ink dries quickly so no smudging, they produce great colours, enabling you to give another dimension to your artwork.  The 1.4mm nip is a little bit too big for fine line work, however, you can always re outline with a finer pen.

With Christmas and Diwali upon us they are a great set of colours for crafting decorations and cards.  They also make a great addition to your journaling.

The Stabilo Boss Original set of pens are highlighters, I think at one time or another we have all used a Stabilo highlighter.  Being the original set you will find 4 full size highlighters in green, yellow, pink and orange.  The packing is fully recyclable and enables you to see the pens you are purchasing.  The Stabilo Boss Original highlighters have a special anti drying technology which means you can leave the lid off for up to 4 hours and the pen will not dry
out.  I tried this and it really does work.  The pens have a diagonal nib which gives you two nib sizes 2mm for underlining and a 5mm nib for highlighting your work.  Even though most people use the Boss Original pens as highlighters you can colour with them if you require a vivid colour.

These pens are great for work, school and home.  They are a great edition if you make your own journals or diaries. I believe that when you are buying any Stabilo product you are buying quality, you know that the colours are going to look great and that the pens are going to last if used correctly, you will get a great end product.
