Skin Shop LipQ Liquorice Balm Review

Having never heard of Skin Shop, I was eager to try out their LIPQ Liquorice Balm and whilst I waited for it to arrive, I went on to their website to find out more. I am glad I did as it made for some really good, interesting and fascinating reading. Have a look and see for yourself, the link to their website is below.

Unfortunately, I am a huge sufferer of cold sores and when I get them, I get them with vengeance. I do not just get 1 or 2, I get then in clusters and can sometimes make my lips look like I have had a bad lip filler. They are excruciatingly painful and can hurt so much that it is difficult for me to open my mouth to talk, let alone try to eat. So you can imagine how excited I was to receive this product and just in time too, as I had broken out in some cold sores 3 days prior to the product arriving.

As a lover of liquorice I could not wait to apply this to my lips and especially my cold sores. As soon as I opened the lid, I felt like that school child again, back in the sweet shop asking for liquorice wheels, yum, it smelt delicious. I used my little finger to dab into the balm and applied it to my cold sores, I then used my ring finger to dab into the balm and apply it to the rest of my lips. I would usually use cotton buds but I had run out of these.

The balm was silky smooth and glided on lovely. It did not feel like it was thick or clumpy and only needing a very tiny amount, it did not sit on my lips and come off. I could smell that delicious smell of liquorice as I inhaled, mmmmmmm, I was in heaven.

I reapplied the balm as and when I felt I needed to and last thing at night. I would wake up in the morning and my lips felt lovely, again, that really nice silk and smooth feeling. ‘Within 24hrs, the discomfort in my cold sores had gone down by around 75% and within another 48hrs, the cold sores had diminished to just a small patchy area. I have been using the balm now for 4 days and I have to say, it is by far, one of the best cold sore treatments I have ever used, to just because it smells and tastes of liquorice LOL!

Whether you suffer with cold sores or not, I thoroughly recommend this product, it combats cold sores and also leaves your lips feeling really soft and clean.
