19/99 Lash And Brow Tint Review

I was really excited to receive a 19/99 Beauty Lash & Brow Tint to review, as I wear mascara on a daily basis and have done for the past 30 years, so it’s something that I have lots of experience in. However, I had never heard of 19/99 Beauty, so I had a quick search on the net about the company – I wholeheartedly agree with their ethos as they believe that no one should be defined by their age and you should be able to wear whatever makeup you want, whether you’re 19 or 99.

The lash & brow tint arrived wrapped in a little white paper bag, sealed with a label denoting the product and the colour of the product. On the back of the paper bag, there were brief instructions for use and ingredients in both English and French. On first glance it seemed a bit excessive to have the product inside the paper bag, but it became apparent when I took the product out, that they had minimal writing on. I guess this is why they needed the paper bag to give these extra details. I liked the look of the product, it looked like a standard mascara tube and was a shiny black colour. I was pleased to see that the product is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, which is so important these days.

The tint is available in 3 colours – black, brown and taupe. I received it in black, which is the colour I usually wear as a mascara, so that was great. However, as a red-headed lady, with fair skin I opted to not try the product on my brows, as there’s always a limit to my experimentation!

When I opened the mascara, I was surprised at how small the wand was with short bristles, compared to what I am used to. However, on application, the mascara coated my lashes beautifully and I could see that it had coated each lash individually right from the root to the tip. Due to the size of the wand, it definitely assisted with precise application, where it was needed. I only applied one coat of the product, as I found this to be ample for everyday wear, to define my lashes and give a natural look that’s not too heavy. I liked the subtle hint of colour achieved, rather than a thick heavy black mascara. However, it is designed as a buildable product, so you can apply as many layers as you want, to achieve your desired look and add volume as needed, which I would do if I was going out for the evening and wanted a more dramatic look.

I found the product lasted all day, without smudging or flaking (as it is designed to do!) and was easy to remove with my standard eye makeup remover at the end of the day. It is marketed as being water-resistant, but not waterproof, so it’s worth noting if you are looking for a product to use when swimming etc.

The Lash & Brow tint retails for £14, which I think is really reasonable for a product of this type. I would happily pay this for the product and would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Standard delivery is £4 or free if spending £25. I would recommend this product as an alternative Easter Gift for the makeup lover in your life.
