Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook Review

If you’ve got someone in your life who is difficult to buy for and you are struggling for ideas, then this could be the product for you. I was asked to review the Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook and to say I was thrilled is an understatement. For me stationary is an ideal gift and I would be thrilled to receive this on Christmas morning. It makes for a unique gift idea that fits in with so many different interests – in essence, everyone needs a notebook, but where the Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook is extra special is the quality.

Moleskine is a renowned maker of paper products in particular notebooks and diaries, whilst Missioni is a famous, Italian fashion house and they have combined their expertise to produce a beautiful notebook which would make the perfect gift. The colourful but stylish design embodies the Missioni brand, and features some of their most recognisable fabric designs, while the Moleskine trademark means you can be assured of quality and durability.
On reviewing the website, there is a wealth of information about the Moleskine for Missioni product range and the notebook was easy to order, arriving quickly, despite the postal strikes. The notebook is simply wrapped in a clear branded film for protection.

The Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook is available in one of two designs and sizes, both consisting of multicoloured designs. The notebook design I reviewed had a geometric design on the cover, almost a bit like a magic eye puzzle on first glance. I liked the design as although it was colourful and I felt it would be suited to most people, not geared towards a particular gender.

The notebook had a feeling of quality as you would expect from a high end brand such as Moleskine, the cover is a canvas material and is a good size, 7.5 x 9.75 inches, which is a really good size (somewhere between A5 and A4) meaning there is plenty of room to write down all your thoughts and ideas, but it is still small enough to fit inside your handbag or rucksack.

The other thing that stands out is the attention to detail and the finishing touches, for example the contrasting turquoise elastic closure and an expandable inner pocket at the back of the notebook, to keep all your ideas safe. The inside of the notebook is a glorious blue heavy weight paper and includes space to write contact details, just in case you lose your notebook, in the hope it will be safely returned to you, along with the bright pink ribbon to mark your page, all these touches perfectly complement the fabric design.

The pages inside the notebook are a beautiful ivory colour, lined and are of a good thickness, made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests meaning you can be assured it is responsibly sourced and sustainable too. Another fantastic design feature is that the notebook actually lays flat once opened, so writing your notes is a joy, not a struggle.

I love the Moleskine sentiment “Every Moleskine notebook is a book yet to be written and a story waiting to be told” and that is exactly what it is to give this notebook as a Christmas present. Whether the recipient is an avid cook who needs somewhere to write their recipe ideas, a keen traveller who want to chart their travel plans or the super challenging teenager who needs somewhere to write their hopes and dreams, this is the perfect gift for everyone. Journaling is a popular trend at the moment, especially with teenagers, and is often recommended as a way of supporting well-being. The Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook would be a perfect notebook for journaling, especially with the pocket at the back to add little memories for safe keeping! For me, the stationary geek, I will love and adore this notebook and every time I get it out to write something, I’ll take a moment to reflect on how truly beautiful and unique it is. The Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook is so versatile, and in an age where everything is either digital or disposable, is great to give a gift that encourages us to write by hand and to be able to keep these memories.

The Moleskine Missoni Limited Edition Notebook retails at £56 which is a little more expensive than an average notebook but for me the beauty of giving a gift is being able to buy a loved one a luxury item that will be long lasting and remind them of happy memories every time they use it. Combine this with the quality of the product and the design I do feel it is worth the price point.
