Casdon Henry Deluxe Cleaning Trolley Review

My toddler loves to help clean – and by help, I mean steal my duster and start doing his own version of dusting! He loves to copy me, so I thought this would be a great toy for his 2nd birthday. It arrived quickly and was in a plain cardboard box, with the real toy box inside so it was well protected. It was a bit sad to see different items inside were stored in plastic bags, but as it is a plastic toy in itself I can’t moan too much! It was very easy for me to assemble and add the five stickers, taking less than 5 minutes, and it seems like a very robust toy. The parts just clicked in to place and there are diagrams to help if needed. When my toddler first saw this he was very excited and was laughing pointing to the happy face on the bucket, and then started taking everything out of the trolley enjoying exploring what was included. There is a mop and bucket, cleaning and spray bottles, a broom, dustpan and brush, a wipe, paper bag attached to the back, and a handheld hoover (please note this requires 3 x AA batteries which are not included). The trolley can be wheeled around and stands up easily on its own. My little one loves to pull the trolley around the house with him and pretend to clean, and it helps me get some actual cleaning done as we turn it in to a fun game. If only they did matching larger ones for adults!! My 2 older children (aged 5 and 7) are also enjoying this toy, although they lose interest more quickly so I would definitely say it is aimed more at toddlers. It is even fun to take the bucket out and try to sit in the trolley! It is great for them using their imaginations, role playing, and learning life skills all in one go.

I would definitely recommend this product, although there are a couple of things I would personally change for the price. The paper bag seems a bit pointless and it has been ruined within a day of using it, and it would also be great if this included a real miniature Henry hoover for them to use! The handheld one is fun, but it doesn’t look like my own vacuum so he is less enthused with this part. It technically picks up small pieces of dirt and dust, but it can’t be relied upon and is (unfortunately!) definitely just a toy version. It is also good to note that Casdon sell a range of other toys as well, from shopping toys, cooking role play and driving fun among other things.

Overall we are very happy with this cleaning trolley. It has helped me find time to clean and is giving my son a lot of fun putting things in and out and feeling like he has an important job to do alongside me. Now just to persuade him the brush is not also a hairbrush…
