I was very happy to be asked to review a pot shelf at this time of the year.  Spring has arrived and it brings the promise of sunny days ahead. It is the perfect time to start getting my garden ready.

The large package arrived in a sturdy cardboard box, it is 7kg in weight, so I was pleased to learn that Hayes Garden World offer free Mainland UK delivery on all orders over £50, The Florenity Grigio Folding Pot Stand is priced at £89.00 and can be ordered from hayesgardenworld.co.uk I also noticed that they currently have an offer to save 10% on all orders over £50, which this item would qualify. If anything, my initial and only criticism is the price, having said that it is a quality item so I guess if it is within your budget then you will be happy with your purchase.

I was anticipating a flat packed item that would need constructing, much to my surprise and relief this was not the case. On opening the box, the Pot Stand easily stands much like opening a ladder, two strong lengths of webbing are pre attached to hold it at the perfect angle, then the three sturdy shelves pivot easily into position. Instructions and Allen keys are also included should you need to take it apart, however the only time I would foresee the need to do this would either be for cleaning or maintenance, for storage purposes for say over-winter it would neatly fold flat against a wall.

I absolutely love the colour, it is two shades of grey and perfectly fits within the colour scheme of my garden, matching in with the fences and other garden furniture. I am sure the neutral colour would work in most garden designs. Having said that its use is by no means limited to the garden, it is such lovely decorative item that it would also look stunning within your home.

It is made from Eucalyptus Hardwood and has been painted with a durable paint finish, the dimensions are 90cm in height, 60cm in width and 70cm in depth. Each shelf would easily display 3 medium sized pots. I will initially use mine for seedlings and as the summer progresses it will be wonderful to display my plants in full bloom and the beauty of a stand like this is the display can be change to either suit a new colour palette or simply what plants are at its bests as the seasons change. There is no reason it couldn’t be used all year round.

I particularly like how the shelves increase with size ensuring the plants on the bottom shelf will get as much access to the sunlight as the top. The shelves are also slatted, this will prevent them getting waterlogged and allow drainage, I will also use plant saucers to protect the wood and thus lengthening the life of this lovely new addition to my garden.
