Jack and the Beanstalk The Giant Pantomime Spectacular is at Milton Keynes Theatre until Saturday 8th January. We are just home, Spectacular is an understatement and I have already tried buying tickets to go again!

I came to Panto late, I think I have maybe only been four maybe five times tops. This is the best Pantomime ever, oh no it’s not I hear you cry, oh yes it was ! Just wow from start to finish and I don’t know where to begin. I commend the whole cast, nothing short of flipping brilliant. Yes that’s a pun on Diversity, they most definitely do lots of flipping.

Jack and the Beanstalk has been given a Milton Keynes twist and the laughs and jokes surrounding locals continue throughout the show, all in very good humour I may add.

I just need to say my husband, my nine year old grandson and myself were literally blown away. It’s the best night at the Theatre I have had in forever. Legends all of you. As we walked out, our Grandson said can we go again. What a testament to some fantastic performances.

Jack Trot and all his brothers and sisters, aka Diversity, Pete Firman as Simon, Laura Evans as Jill, Jack Land Noble as Dame Trot, Gina Murray as Mother Nature and the villain of the piece Daniel Boys as Fleshcreep. You all looked amazing, the costumes are colourful and fun, with the Villain actually looking quite hot! When I tell you the set was incredible, you have to see to believe the Helicopter that Jack flys, our grandson was transfixed and delighted as says Jack definitely waved at him. The giants! To see such effects in your local theatre is both thrilling and exciting.

All the traditional panto themes are in there, including some water and a wacky literally wacky song, sang so well by those involved. The soundtrack was current and fitting. Haze was laughing lots in so many parts, as were we as adults. Is Panto really for kids or the child in all of us adults if we look hard enough. I haven’t laughed, clapped or sang so much in an age. Boy do we need this type of entertainment right now in the current pandemic world. There was a poignant moment with Simon around friendship which personally I felt was a huge tip of the hat to mental health. Very well done in amongst the humour and frivolity of Panto.

We loved it more than words can say. The stalk that grew in front of our eyes, Daisy the prize cow, the Dame, the singing. All amazing.

I can’t really put into words Diversity and their dancing. Has to be seen to be beholden. Fan flipping tastic. Outstanding. Amazing. Exceptional. They have to be the very best at what they do. We laughed lots and lots as a family, I danced and sang my heart out. I didn’t want it to end. You all made what was an enchanting evening, thank you so very much. I very much hope we get to see you again before the run finishes.
